Basilik - Menú

Great find on a quiet square in the old town. The food is fresh, made basically in front of you, and using seasonal vegetables. Warm welcome by both the waitress/hostess and chef.

Beautiful location in the center, with a very hospitable and proffesional waiter. The food was delicious, and we loved the menues they offered. They also speak fluently English. We will definately go back here.

Basilik was recommend to us by the woman selling us tickets at the Arenes de Nimes. I wish I could go back and thank here. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Don't be deceived by the simple, stripped down decor. Not strictly traditional French, had an Asian twist - very good. I had a seared tuna. Every thing comes with very fresh vegetables. Save room for desert.

Shaded by a tree whose canopy took up most of the little square, we found lunch at Basilik the most enjoyable - and far from the most expensive - meal we had in Nîmes. A delicious gazpacho and a salad of mussels and tomatoes full of zing, were followed by main courses which combined fresh and flavourful ingredients - especially vegetables - in imaginative ways. Relaxed atmosphere and style, but there's discipline in the kitchen. Recommended.

We came for a lunch in Basilik. We enjoyed a lot the location, on a nice quite little place. The food was delicious and well presented. We took the entree + plat + dessert formule for 19euros. Everything was very good: the entree, both gaspacho andalou and the moules were succulent. As a main dish we had a salade caesar salad and and the swordfish. The swordfish was pefectly cooked, with a very good seasoning. The desserts were as well very tasty. We definitely recommend the place.

I'm always searching for healthy meal options while traveling, and somehow in my search online, I didn't find this place. Rather, we stumbled across it roaming around the city and I'm so glad we did! We had lunch on a Saturday, and it had a good number of people but wasn't crowded at all. It has a cool, calm atmosphere and great staff. The food was AMAZING. I'm vegetarian and easily found a great dish- the gnocchi, which was divine. All of their options were super fresh with heaps of veggies. I was impressed by the creativity and super happy with my meal. I wish there were more places like this! I would eat like that every day if I could. Highly recommend to health conscious travelers!

Lunch at this restaurant on a Saturday was calm and very enjoyable (I'm told they are very busy on weekdays for business lunches). The decor is very neutral, clean and zen-like. The food is all cooked by steam, and served in small dishes made of thin wood lined with a parchment paper. Most of the food is cooked in special hi-tech steam ovens for about 35 seconds. We started with some wonderful cold gazpacho that was full of flavor and fresh herbs. For entrees, one of us had Thai chicken with rice--very tender, flavorful chicken pieces--and I had a gnocchi with vegetables (thin sliced zucchini, peas, flat green beans, sun-dried tomato, artichoke heart) that came with a green salad.
