Food drinks: The food was 50/50. The chips and aubergine were delicious but the rest lacked flavour and the tart was very dry. I feel bad saying it as everything else was great. What a beautiful place with lovely people and delicious food! It was such a pleasure to stay in a nice environment with my dog, rather than in old, worn-out hotel rooms. The thoughtful touches, like fresh milk and homemade cookies in the room for our morning cup of tea, made the experience truly special. That alone earns a solid 5 stars from me! Stayed at this delightful country B B for my husband's birthday. It was beautifully decorated and we stayed in The Dovecote which was very quaint with beautiful exposed beams. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Our evening meal was absolutely gorgeous. Everything was cooked from scratch and so fresh with homemade bread, marmalade biscuits. Would definitely stay again and recommend. Also had a lovely welcome from their gorgeous dog Bakkus? Not sure it's spelt right!!!

As for the rooms, ours was delightful with a really comfortable bed. The drink selection, especially the cider and real ale, was excellent. Breakfast was a highlight, offering a wonderful variety of cooked options. One morning, I had the Smoked Salmon with scrambled eggs, and the next day I enjoyed poached haddock with poached eggs. My husband tried the full English breakfast and loved it. Although we didn't dine in for dinner since we were out in the evening, we did have some sandwiches which were very nice. The food was really lovely, made even better by the friendly staff. All in all, we had a wonderful stay! Ver carta
