Bella Italia Plymouth, Barbican Leisure Park

We waited for 45 minutes for our kids' food, which seemed to have been microwaved and didn't taste very good. The spare ribs in our adult meals were also disappointing, as one portion was cold. We had to wait over five minutes for cutlery, and eventually had to get it ourselves. Overall, our experience at the restaurant was very disappointing.

We made a reservation for 8:00 and were seated and served quickly by a new, but very kind and attentive young lady. She provided great alternative suggestions when certain menu items were not available, and they were all delicious! We have visited Bella Italia multiple times and will definitely be back. The vegan and vegetarian options here are also extremely tasty. Thank you to the wonderful staff, Rachel and McKenzie! We always leave happy and full after dining here.

Booked a table for 5.15pm, in time for a 6.30pm at Vue next door. On arrival, we were casually told there would be an hour's wait for food! When we asked why, we were told that the chefs were behind, but there was barely anyone else in there on that particular Sunday evening. We had to leave as it obviously wasn't going to work with the film we were booked to see. They'd taken our mobile number on booking so could have told us in advance if there was a problem. Late getting my order wrong, they gave me a Gamberoni with mixed sea food in a cream source with the garlic bread with cheese.. I told them they got the order wrong, as said I can't have cream source as I'm lactose intolerant... The second attempt they gave me another Gamberoni in a cream source... I told the manager about this and he said you didn't tell me that you a lactose intolerant... It really annoys me how people put in charge food don't take allergies seriously. I will never return to another Bella Italia again... I hope you also follow doing the same. Bella Italia please go and get some training in food safety. Please take it seriously!

We went to Bella Italia Plymouth for a family evening meal during the half term. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Portions were great and it was delicious. Food came out really quickly. We return regularly because the staff are so welcoming and always recognise us. The staff Tyler, Paul and Melanie made our family feel really welcome and made it a really special half term treat. They were really engaging with our children and Paul showed them how to make the Bella Italia chocolate milkshake. We had the kids eat for a £1 deal and the children all got to pick their own ice cream colours and toppings at the ice cream cart which made it really fun. This restaurant reinforced my opinion that if you want an enjoyable meal, avoid franchises like this. The service is appallingly slow and the food is average. The waiting staff are unaware of items on the menu that are unavailable. One of our party ordered sea bass and was informed several minutes after placing the order, that there was none available. The same thing happened with dessert no fruit salad! I ordered a bottle of red wine and the waiter brought white to the table! I ordered a pizza to share with my wife accompanied by two salads. Arrived around 6:30. Couldn't use vouchers apparently but the set meals were pointed out as great value. Ordering wasn't too bad. There was no lasagne left or carbonara at this point, limiting the options on the set meal. Encouraged to order all 3 courses. I had ordered Pollo Caccione, waitress returned to let me know that was finished too. Spaghetti Bolognese was really my only option as I don't eat cream; or a plain pizza. Black olives arrived covered in something unappetising, I asked for a switch they were out of black olives (Italy would weep). Spaghetti Bol was tasteless, no cheese offered on top. Food was nice but the service was alot to be desired. Felt so sorry for chef as could see the dishes piling up on the pass but no one was bothering to take them out to the customers. Saw our starter sitting there for over 10 mins. Then I could see my lasagne was brought out to another table and then taken back. My partners dish then appeared on pass next to mine. However no one collected it. We were on time schedule as had film to see so eventually I prompted the waitress . Booked for a party of 7 for our sons 16th birthday and have to say we were really disappointed. Even thought it wasn't very busy, service was so slow it took 20 mins to get drinks. We ordered based on what we were told was available but after waiting about 25 mins we were asked to change our order because there was limited availability on a starter a few of us had chosen, the re order got completely mixed up and after a further 15 mins we were offered the wrong food. twice! and then asked if we were sure about what we'd ordered!!.
