We like this place a lot! Specially burgers and potato soup! We were waiting sometime our booked table, but seems we have been there just at most busy time of the year :)

7 of us went here after biking all day friendly staff pleasant atmosphere good food cooked well fair prices I had the stake others had the burgers. Pop in if your in the area.

The four course surprise menu unsurprisingly contained quite some potatoes - fried and baked. And quite some cream, but not too many vegetables. Otherwise very solid cooking and fast and pleasant service. Prices quite modest. Ver carta

We went to the Kartoffelkiste after a long day on the slopes. The food was really nice and affordable for what you would expect from a fully occupied restaurant in a tourist location such as Winterberg. Overall very satisfied with everything.

Cosy interior, friendly service, good food and best steaks in town. We went there with two couples and 4 kids (ages 4 to 8) and all had an excellent meal. We even went twice in a week because of the food and service. Prices are also very reasonable, only 5eur for kids meals.

What a great surprise in Winterberg. Cozy restaurant, delicious meat, and the soups are fantastic. Everthing has potatos :) The house potato soup is a must try. The people there are very friendly and attentive. Also with dogs no problem. The menu is abbondant and price is ok. Ver carta

The restaurant was very busy on Tuesday evening. They didn't have an empty table so we made a reservation and were told to come back in 30 mins. When we returned, we still had to wait for about 10 mins before we got a table. The food was very good, they specialize in dishes made from potatoes. Overall, it was a great dinner, only the service could be faster and more attentive.

First: you need to reserve a table or to be there early (17:30) to get a table. Once you have a place then you can enjoy very delicious and traditional food with modern touch. We ordered "Reibekuchen" with cream and bacon, another which chicken and mushroom souce. A Mediterranean burger, steak (perfect backed) and chicken nuggets for the little one finish the list. Everything was perfect.

If you fancy German food, like I do, go here.Great typical German dishes, like schnitzel with bratkartoffel, reibe pfannkuchen and kartoffel auflauf. I just turned the light off as they have pretty bright light and ignited some candles.I saw other guests oprdering some food they did not liked, but that might happen if you order food you don't know.
