"3 stars feels a little harsh, 3.5 would be about right I think. Overall I would say that the food was really good but perhaps not as good as I was expecting based on the price. I started with homemade breads which were served with...a small knob of herb butter. The butter was just out of the fridge and not really possible to spread. This is so frustrating as its an easy win. Just make sure the butter is soft enough to spread. I had the sausage and mash expecting something a little more than just sausage and mash' The sausages were nice and the mash was fine, but no more than that. The treacle tart was a highlight. lovely. We were sat at the end of the restaurant and I spent the evening with my back to the whole restaurant which means missing out on the atmosphere. the table could easily be turned to allow a side on aspect which I think would be better. Service was great and the staff very friendly. Will definitely go again, and I may have been more impressed with a more exciting main choice."

Great seasonal menu. We both enjoyed every course and was one of the best meals we have had in the UK. The quality of the food is excellent and locally sourced but yet all very reasonably priced. Staff are wonderful and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Top of our list for restaurants in Bury/Cambridge area.

Ben's restaurant is known for its high-quality meat, and we can attest that it lives up to its reputation. I decided to try the lamb for my main course, and it was incredibly flavorful. The attention to detail in the dishes was evident, such as the perfectly crispy top on the Dauphinoise potatoes. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, making for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Fab place. Food excellent. Compliments to the chef for all round efficiency and tasty fayre. He cooked everything from scratch virtually single handedly in full view of the guests! Fish and chip special night ...batter so light it nearly floated...delicious fish. Staff so friendly and obliging. In a party of 10 but everything so slick so no waiting or mistakes with service. Very reasonable too. Wonderful find...will return

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic and definitely worth a visit. The food is excellent and we first discovered this place after a trip to the cinema. It happened to be the last night of their special cake event and we were blown away by the delicious cakes they served. We also returned for their usual menu, Sunday dinner, and afternoon tea, all of which were of great quality. The staff are incredibly friendly and respectful. I highly recommend this place.

the personal was wonderful in this restaurant, but the food was unfortunately not. we went especially for sunday roasts. it is a real scandal that they do not offer vegetarian roast option, just a risotto. the bratkartoffels were not crispy what the menu boasts! the black was tasteless and there was a tiny, lonely, filling ball. the others were all quite nice. I can just cook a better roast home. I would expect to cook such a limited menu (5ish options for each curs) better to do.

I had been looking at my visit to Ben’s for Sunday dinner and the starter was not disappointed, but when it came to the net, everything went to pieces! they boast that their flesh is all local, which it is likely, but that has not...to cut the lamb so fat and almost impossible through the belt. the bark looked out and cut well buy bad taste and, apart from the carrots and flower coal cheese, the veg blunt. one was the cheeseboard, very nice. someone from the staff would have had to show care if teller went back with a lot of meat uneaten. I got a voucher for Ben’s to christmas, so I will try back to the dinner menu, I hope this is a better experience.
