Bistro Nt - Carta

Found this restaurant during a business trip to Duisburg where I stayed in the hotel "Friederichs". Since it was too cold to find another restaurant decided to try the hotel restaurant and it was quite a nice suprise. The staff was very friendly and the food was quite good, the only negative aspect is the price, but for German standards is quite acceptable for the type of service and food you get. Definitely a safe option in Duisburg.

Having heard about this restaurant from several german friends, I decided to go. It was well worth the trip. It is located close to the central station in Duisburg, so very easy to reach. The greeting at the door was very friendly, as was the staff. Had a delicious meal of breast of guinea fowl with risotto, and for dessert a wonderful Rote Gruetzi (a german specialty). When I am again in Duisburg, I will certainly make time to have another dinner there.

During my stay in Friederichs Hotel I have been in their restaurant. I decided to remain for dinner because I didn't want to go out... too tired! And what a surprise! The food is simply amazing... I have traveled several times to Germany and honestly speaking that was my best dinner I had in Germany since years!I got their soup of the day, simply delicious and as main course the lamb... it was all perfect. I'm Italian and I have to admit that the level of this restaurant is really high! You pay a bit more than what you are used to pay in Germany, but you get all of it back with the interests! We were a group of about 20 celebrating our 50th high school reunion so maybe individual diners have a different experience. We were asked to settle for a set menu. Our organizer chose an Italian theme. First course was antipasto that had a nice variety thankfully leaving out some of the tired old standards. It set a tone of anticipation. Next course was scallopini of veal saltimbocca: two small slices of veal nicely done served with a decent risotto and cooked spinach on the side. The risotto serving was the size of an ice cream scoop. Finally a tiny square of tasty tiramisu. The quality of the food was good but most of us were still a bit hungry after the meal due to the very small portion...
