"Looking for something to eat in Chinon, we entered this bistro, well situated in the city center of Chinon. It has a large terrace, filled with people enjoying a drink in the sun. We chose to go inside where we saw people eating quite copious meals so it looked like a good choice. Unfortunately, after having been seated, we seem to have been forgotten by the staff and it took some twenty minutes before we could finally pass our orders which were served after another considerable delay, and quite cold in the meantime. It looks like the kitchen had done its job correctly but the waiters had lost our plates somewhere between the kitchen and the guests. Below standard therefore. It looked however that not every table suffered from this, so i guess we just had a kind of bad luck day. The reaction of the manager was however quite evasive and she did as if everything was normal. As a result, the experience was thus rather negative at least, to us. Given that many other guests seemed to have received a decent service it certainly does not look like some mediocre restaurant, but, as mentioned, it looked like we just weren 't lucky that day."

le midi , apres unevisite de la ville .Un endroit tres bien, nous avons mangés sur la place , pres de la fontaine .Personel tres gentil, le service , inpecable , et le repas tres bon , frais et copieux .Malgré certain avis , je conseil ce restaurant , à tous , meme à ceux qui ne sont pas capable d en faire autant

We visited here for an evening meal and the ambience, service and food were so good we returned for Sunday lunch (booking advised) later in our holiday. Slightly disappointed that the prix fixe menu was the same, but there are good a la carte options they were happy to serve. Reasonably priced wine list as well. This is proper French country dining!
