"We stayed nearby and enjoyed this restaurant so much that we visited twice for brunch during our trip. The staff were young and friendly, the food was excellent, and the coffee was great. I particularly enjoyed the full English breakfast, which was not greasy at all. The sausages were especially delicious, and my daughter loved the pancakes and babychinos. We would definitely come back whenever we are in the area."

"Visited here on November. One of my most favourite meals out ever. Warm welcome and service was spot on, very attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Complimentary bread and olives is a generous gesture. Shared cold fish starter and I ordered Thai mussels,...my wife Hake with Crab Crostini for main courses. Both were delicious and presented beautifully. I cannot praise this restaurant enough and will be returning frequently. Menu exciting and varied with a heavy accent on local fish, just what I am looking for when visiting Cornwall. Well done Taste it was a wonderful dining experience."

"After reading reviews online we thought would try here for lunch. There we 6 of us. First impressions were this looks nice, but then we were greeted by our waitress who seemed to be in a world of her own. Was slow, not very attentive and seemed quiet nervous. We ordered our food, my chef husband who has worked in many fine dining establishments from St mortiz to fowey Hall, ordered a steak, was asked how he would like it cooked he said as its a sirloin I'd like it rare. You would think that's a normal request would u not. Our food came out, and his steak was overcooked, came out medium well. He got hold of the waitress and sent it back asked for another. She then came back and said that's how they serve it, that is pink. We got told that it comes out pink or well done, due to the cut of the steak. Never in his 22 years in the industry has he ever heard that. Especially when they think medium well is pink. So he decided to go for a burger, which took 20 mins to come out. They weren't busy. By the time it had arrived, we had all finished, kids got extremely restless. The burger was a double which it didn't state on the menu. He ate it as was starving. When it came to paying the bill, he said he will happily pay for everyone else's and drinks but wanted his meal taken off as its not what he wanted and we came out for a family meal. Not for one person to be left to watch everyone else it. The lady I presume is the manager came out and was rude and unhelpful. Told him you ate it so your paying for it, it's that simple. No apology for the steak again got told its the way they serve that cut of meat. That there was nothing wrong with the steak it was pink. Told him to calm down, I said that we will be leaving a review. She said that as a chef he should know better than to leave a bad review. Its a shame as everyone else really enjoyed their food."

"On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful. I booked a table for dinner after I’d booked the room which was no problem. Very pleasant conversation with a member of staff who suggested we have a table in the main bar booth area which was nice and the atmosphere was fun. We had the special of Hake Risotto which was tasty. The room was clean and comfortable overlooking the church and the bed gave a good nights sleep. Maybe some hooks for hanging coats etc would be beneficial as storage is limited if you are staying for a few days. Having said that it is a very old building so this has to be considered. Breakfast was nice and the young lady waitress was pleasant and look after us well. Not sure if the background music changes but we liked it and was a mix of 80s soul and disco tunes. Parking was fine but at the time of our visit it was pre holiday season so not sure what it is like in July August. Anyway thanks to all the staff who made our stay nice and pleasant."

"We dined at this charming restaurant on Monday evening with my wife, sister, brother-in-law, and father. The service was friendly and warm; both the male and female waitstaff were incredibly courteous and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The food was outstanding. We opted for the seafood menu and found everything to be perfect—absolutely delicious! My wife owns a Mauritian restaurant in Reading, and as a restaurateur, she wholeheartedly endorses this wonderful establishment. We definitely plan to return the next time we’re in Cornwall. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff!"
