"A very poor experience. We took my elderly mother in law for a late breakfast, travelling across from Fraserburgh some 45 miles. We liked the look and read the reviews, arriving before the 11.30 watershed as advised on your website. Despite arriving in time, the waitresses ignored us for some 10/15 minutes before telling us we were too late to order breakfast this was after taking an order from another table after 11.30. We were told to order a cake and a drink if we wanted anything at all. The waitress was not particularly apologetic and only 10 minutes later took a lunch order from another table (before midday another significant time). It cannot be outwith the capability of any cafe/restaurant to be able to serve soup and a roll without having to cook any food the soup could easily already be prepared and ready to serve. My wife has a catering background and was surprised at this. I would like to comment on your food but can only say that the biscuit looked dry; the scone was nice enough; the coffee was very poor and perhaps your staff might be equally disappointed had they been served a flat white with no crema or the cover of textured milk it might as well have been made form a cafetiere with warm milk added. Perhaps they've not visited other good barista cafes. Upon paying, the waitress asked if everything had been alright and looked surprised when I commented politely, becoming very defensive. After driving a round trip of some 90 miles, this was a very disappointing experience and we shall not bother again."

Boogie Woogie is a lovely cafe, my only complaint is the coffee machine is very loud making what others say difficult to hear, even at a distance.

Loved this little cafe we were there on a cold wintery day in December and this was a haven of warmth, excellent coffee, friendly service and tasty food. Looked a little unassuming from the outside but inside was wonderfully retro with a wide range of options and facilities.

Lovely little cafe/shop, we stopped in here for a coffee and a bit of cake. Immediately obvious that this is a popular place as most tables were taken. Coffee, tea and cake were all great. Only reason why I never gave it five stars was that we were sat beside two girls who stared at as the whole time we were there, little off putting but not the cafes fault. Price was more than reasonable and staff were very friendly. Would return.

It's a pity this cafe doesn't allow dogs inside. Both Greenacres Coffee Shop and the Quaich in Fochabers allow dogs inside. Also in Forres, both Chimes Coffee Shop and the 1469 Cafe welcome dogs. Since they are not in a food preparation area then it is not a problem. Boogie Woogie, please look around and think of what customers want. All of the dogs I've seen in the aforementioned cafes have been extremely well behaved and in fact better behaved and quieter than some of your humans. And, a further note, the seating pods you provide are cold, uncomfortable and not sociable as they are very separate from the rest of the cafe and not a welcoming seating option. Additionally the strip lighting y...

"Genuinely couldn't fault the experience. When I heard that the Drouthy had a new menu focusing more on a veggie and vegan base, I knew I had to give it a whirl. The starter of hot Smoked salmon with lemon creme fraiche and oatcakes was simple yet packed full of flavour. I could have easily have had 10 plates of that and been happy to give it 5 stars. My partner had the smoked duck and even though I have given up meat, I was salivating at the look of their dish. They assure me that it was as delicious as it looked. Served with lavender roasted potatoes (which I'm told were amazing and charred salsify. The mains were more than a match for the brilliant starters. If I could give one piece of advice, it would be get the beetroot risotto. Not being a massive fan of beetroot, I wasn't too sure about it. But the incredibly warm waiter (for my son's, I never got his name. I only hope he can forgive me if he reads this! assured me it was tasty. He was not wrong. Beautifully cooked vegan risotto with balsamic beetroot chunks, shiitake mushrooms and rocket, it was simply divine. WHEN I go back, I'll be hard pressed to go for anything else because it was so delicious. It was creamy, packed full of flavour and cooked absolutely perfectly. Just the right amount of bite, nowhere near being mush like you get in a lot of other places (who charge a lot more, by the way . Superb. The highest of compliments to the chef. I was so taken by my dish I forgot to ask how my partner's was until I had eaten all of mine. But their home made vegan tagliatelle had disappeared from the plate so it must have been amazing. I couldn't handle dessert so had a delicious ruby port (delaforce I think it was called , and I would also like to give credit to whoever came up with their wine list. It covered every single base and no-one could ever be disappointed. Finally, if you're ever in Elgin, please make sure this is one of your destinations. You will leave extremely happy."
