"Located halfway up Steep Hill, this restaurant has a unique entrance with a couple of steep steps leading down into it. Once inside, the space opens up with plenty of room between tables. The restaurant appears to be built into the street, featuring an arched roof that gives the impression of being in a cave. While the sandwich selection may be limited, the cakes are delicious and the teas and coffees are of high quality. They even offer a variety of Rooibos teas for those avoiding caffeine. The charming atmosphere is enhanced by the presence of second-hand books for sale, providing a pleasant browsing experience. Overall, a lovely place to enjoy a meal or a hot beverage."

Lovely welcoming cafe. Stopped for a cuppa and cake and a rest after walking up, but definitely worth it. Attentive and friendly staff. Beautiful coffee.

I visited this restaurant today while visiting my son. The setting was really interesting and I enjoyed a great cappuccino. I will definitely visit again.

Called here on the way down Steep Hill after spending the day in the castle and cathedral, but, it is definitely worth going just to go to this cafe/book shop. Really nice tea and the cakes were fantastic. Also a large collection of books for sale. Ver carta

You would be missing out if you didn't stop by this fantastic café. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the drinks are delicious, and they offer a great variety of freshly made vegan cakes. It's the perfect spot to unwind after a walk on Steep Hill.

incredible! the barista was charming and amusing, made an excellent hot chocolate with the works that my man said it is good enough to come back, even with the hill the sandwiches were delicious, simply perfect for lunch and cheap. the book selection is eclectic (and I was amused to find a German kopie der geisha) and the sofas super comfortable.

The cafe is situated in a building that dates back to the 12th century, featuring an impressive barrel vaulted ceiling that keeps it cool in the summer months. They offer a lovely assortment of cakes and a variety of non-dairy milk options. It's the perfect spot for a tasty treat after climbing a steep hill. The cafe is conveniently located near the cathedral and is closed on certain days. Ver carta

I stopped by today for some delicious tea and cake as a way of saying thank you to the kind young man and his mom who helped me out with a seat and water yesterday. I was feeling a bit under the weather due to a steep hill and post-Covid symptoms. Their genuine common sense and kindness really made a difference. To the staff who weren't there today, please accept my sincere thanks and know that I would recommend this place for its fantastic cakes and teas!

really bad that I 4, and not 5 just because the place did not advertise the rolls on the menu we wanted to eat. Apparently, she left the website when they run out. come early in the day to avoid disappointment. good coffee and a relaxed atmosphere. large selection of books. while I remember, I replaced my first choice with a ei mayo roll. the egg is a very smooth paste and I got a bit of a pickle with it, everything in my bart and the like. the food didn't come with a serviette so I couldn't wipe my grubby little face.

"when we arrived, there was a 15 min waiting for a table for 4 people. that in my head was a good thing, and what can I say, but I was right. I go out for dinner and give a 5-star rating without being a bit generous, but in this case I don't have to be generous. this is really a 5-star evaluation site. the price is reasonable and this is reflected in the size of the drank. large but not too large and very fillable. the selection was good overall for lunch and tea and coffee selection was then expected to be bigger. simply note that no alcohol is served here, but is not needed, as the environment is excellent and the ethos of the caffe supports. eating was great and the selection of meat and vegan food was good. the face of the children on the sight of the child afternoon was one of the excitement, especially when you see the size of the cake. the burgerpatties were thin, but wide, homemade, like all food, cooked in a juicy juicy condition. the nuggets were diceed chicken pieces so quality from the beginning, batter was slightly spiced and cooked for perfection. not greasy or soggy or too much for the meat. best nuggets I've ever had. if they like cake and coffee, this is also the place for them with the sizes of the cake portions they will take a few home, and it is worth it. as they can say, we really enjoyed eating and put in a place that is modern with a classic touch that I felt relaxed and that eating fits the venue."
