"This restaurant is outstanding. The food was delicious and perfectly seasoned. I highly recommend the signature dish, the triple-cooked beef. The service was excellent; the staff was attentive without being intrusive. Alex, one of the team members, ensured everything went smoothly all evening. He also makes a fantastic cocktail. Plus, the bathroom was exceptionally clean and fresh. This place definitely deserves five stars—it's a top-notch restaurant and one of the best in Alton."

"Was very excited to visit the pub after reading the reviews posted on here last night being 7th March although it was early doors came away a little disappointed. The barman/ waiter appeared to be the only person on duty and really dressed for the occasion. He was polite and friendly but stretched we placed our order waited it arrived. One fish dish and one meat dish great emphasis was place on bringing us our jus to accompany our meal. My plate consisted of rubber cold french beans a splodge of equally cold pea puree although the lamb was cooked to perfection as were the very small portion of potatoes, my husband fish equally as good but was accompanied by the same red meat jus as mine and noticed when leaving most of the restaurant had. (it was very similar to bisto) we asked to see the desert menu it eventually arrived but was then left for a considerable amount of time as the conversation at the bar was a little more important needless to say we paid and left so a little uncertain about a return visit. To sum things up the meal was mediocre if not a little petite lacked vegetables and tepid. Really had this down as our nxt fav restaurant in Alton ."

"What an experience! Drink excellent , service excellent and food to die for! Starters, mains and puddings were absolutely gorgeous ! We are so glad that this little gem is on our doorstep . "Booked last minute on a Sunday for a family of 5 and our 1 year old! Arrived and table all set for us with high hair provided. Great choice on the menu, 4 of us went for the roast beef and 1 of us the burger along with prawns, ribs and garlic bread for starter! Well to say the food was nice would not do it justice! The food was delicious, full of flavour and great portion sizes. By far THE BEST roast dinner we have ever had out! The beef was cooked to perfection! The staff were so professional and welcoming and we will definitely return! Outside area looked lovely also so definitely now on our list for drinks in the sunshine soon! Would highly recommend and thanks for a lovely Sunday afternoon out!"

"friendly staff serve hot fresh Thai dishes from the menu side of vegetarian and vegan options. the clear mushroom soup meets with expected aromen: zilantro (coriander,) kaffir limette, galangal and lemongrass, perfectly seasoned (not too hot, not mild). both were tasty, but strangely neither contain tofu nor aubergines. (I think the waiter has misunderstood ours. there was a [mistaken] cultural struggle against soy in Britain, so he probably thought that I wanted to avoid for this little place making a welcome evening for the hungry vegans demand Asian food near alton. a solid 3.5 stars."
