"I loved this little restaurant/bistro. The waitress who welcomed us was enthusiastic and friendly. She talked through the menu written up on a blackboard in great detail and with great gusto. We decided to go straight for main courses but then looked longingly at a huge platter of cold antipasti at the nearest table. Resisting the temptation to distract their attention while we reached over and tucked in we decided that it was a meal in itself unless you have a huge appetite or you haven't eaten for a week. I ate pasta with squid and squid ink which was delicious and not very easy to find in England. My partner who has to follow a gluten free diet had gluten free pasta and my only criticism of the restaurant is that it was not obvious that a gluten free pasta was available, it just came out in conversation with the waitress. This is a lovely friendly little restaurant with a great atmosphere and delicious food and wine. And it is good value too. It is small and the tables are quite close so its not the most suitable for business or romance, but for a friendly, relaxed, meal with good food and service it can't be beat. We'll be back!"

This was our first dining experience at this restaurant but certainly not the last. The food was amazing and so was everything else. Top marks

Make sure you get a seat upstairs and you feel like you're in a traditional trattoria. Amazing food and great service fasting becoming a regular.

Very poor service and very mediocre/bad food. It felt also very cold inside the restaurant. We used to go to the restaurant in Wapping which was much better. Extremely disappointing. I will never go back.

Really authentic Italian cuisine, not the typical pizza/pasta places you generally find! After travelling through a lot of Italy it's one of the few places in London that you can say is truly authentic and delicious. Not cheap but the ingredients they use are very good quality. Ver carta

We went to Prelibato on a Friday night- service was excellent- you order from a chalkboard and staff are really knowledgeable. Starters of scallops and chicken livers were gorgeous, we sadly didn't finish our lovely main courses of pasta as we'd had too much bread. Will return...highly recommend!

This restaurant may be surrounded by the Rivington Bar Grill and the new Hix restaurant but for an equally fabulous dinner in a cosy friendly atmosphere at a fraction of the price you must come here. A menu that changes on a daily basis it has a fantastic choice of fresh pasta dishes and an equally fabulous selection of wine. As I’ve seen on some other reviews I’m sorely tempted to keep this great little restaurant to myself as it's truly a great find.

Was expecting great things from this place given the location and look of the place. It has a daily changing menu so maybe we were just unlucky but all the food seemed to lack any spark. We ordered three starters all were just mushy, not particularly well presented. Smoked duck was good but served on an unattractive bed of raw onions and bland tomatoes. I had seafood pasta main again bland. Pasta is home made and good. Sauce was thin and lacked any seasoning. Great wine. Service pretty poor, took absolutely ages for any food to arrive. Nice ambiance for a date but the food was pretty average. Ver carta

Poor service, bland food. Sorry but the location warrents more. Was given menus, left for quite a time before a waitress came for our order. We ordered but as the sarters arrived noticed the table next to us had a whole specials board to choose from( would have definitely changed our choices) my wife had the friut de mer which was one prawn and the rest was just sqiud rings. Our plates sat dor a long time before the waiter cleared and asked is there anything else we wanted? Our reply was our mains please. When arrived completely under welming very bland. No one came to check on us and no one was seen to escalte the poor food. Only once someone came to clear did we have the opportunity to say...

This place used to be good but it really seems to have fallen apart. The service was very poor. We had booked for 6 but bumped into someone en route so were 7. We were told off when we arrived and said it caused a lot of work to solve it just involved putting a chair at the end of the table we’d booked. We had to chase every time we wanted to order and when we got the bill nobody came to take payment. My friend wanted to take her leftovers with and chased 4 times to get them back. My main dish was actually tasty the mushroom ravioli but others felt the food was bland. The bruschetta starter is bland. They also took a £60 deposit off us. I asked when we left and they said they’d reimburse it...

"A friend and I stumbled on to this neighbourhood restaurant by chance; no research, no booking, no expectations. We were then blown away by the quality of the food: wonderfully fresh fish, beautifully cooked. The service is also exemplary. I've always enjoyed calamari, but this was by far the best I've ever had: truly succulent and juicy. The mussels were almost as good, and the sea bream kept up the standard. The spiced quince with ice cream made a nice change from baclava in a Turkish restaurant (they still threw in some baclava). The owner, Tony, provides excellent recommendations — make sure you take them! He knows what's fresh that morning, and how his wife cooks it. The bill comes hand-written, and Tony forgot to include the wine (obviously I corrected him). I can't remember the last time a restaurant bill made a mistake in the customers' favour! No service charge is included, and it deserves a lot more than the usual 12.5%. This is a wonderful, old-fashioned restaurant, run by a charming old couple, committed to maintaining old-fashioned standards. The food is more than great and the prices more than reasonable. Service is personal, honest and responsive (providing Tony turns his hearing aid on). Tony warns you if anything you wanted was bought in, rather than home-made. Why don't unassuming but wonderful restaurants like this get Michelin stars?"
