"The entire experience at Auberge du Bon Laboureur was sublime. The service was excellent and yet comfortable, not pretentious. We felt like we were being entertained in a private home. It was just so lovely, We took our aperitif in the bar, then moved to the dining room. There were several taster surprises from the chef. The menus was a perfect selection with an emphasis on locally sourced products. Every bite was perfection. I tried the chef’s signature dessert. It was made of parmasean cheese among other wonderful things and was served with a small lightly dressed arugula salad which perfectly balanced the tart yet rich dessert. I left the property determined to return for a longer stay and several nights in that’s restaraunt!"

"We have been staying at La Roseraie since I was a teenager (that is a very long time ago) and it has always been a lovely hotel. The current owner is very sweet and remembers us each time we visit, which makes it feel very homely. The room we stay in is very comfortable and the air conditioning is very welcome on our Summer visits. Always clean and tidy and very spacious even for three (our daughter prefers to share a room with us rather than have her own). The restaurant serves excellent food with attentive staff and the room and food prices are OK considering how close it is to the Chateau de Chenonceaux, which is a short walk away either along the street or via a hidden pathway that we discovered only recently. Well worth a visit and we will continue to stay there as long as my parents continue to live in the Dordognes as it is a perfect stop over on the way there and back."

"We were looking for a light lunch after visiting the chateau. If was reasonably late for lunch and most other places seemed shut so we entered the Hotel Le Beouf Couronne - when we made it clear we were after something light they ushered us through to Au Gateau Breton - it all seems to be one rambling, connected business. It was extremely hot and we were seated under a flimsy umbrella in a courtyard. We waited interminably for someone to take our order, and our drinks order. The courtyard was stifling hot. We then waited so long that we considered getting up and leaving - if we thought anywhere else nearby was open we would have."

"Per le ferie di quest'anno la scelta è caduta sui castelli della Loira, amando trovare una base da cui poi far partire le escursioni giornaliere, abbiamo optato per La Renaudiere a Chenonceau ed è stata una scelta azzeccata.. Camera spaziosa con un bagno altrettanto fruibile, molto pulita, cambio quotidiano degli asciugamani.. Colazione in giardino e così anche la cena, l'albergo è infatti dotato di un ristorante con una lista non eccessiva di piatti, ma ben cucinati e presentati. I signori che lo gestiscono estremamente cordiali senza essere mai invadenti, dispone anche di una piscina all'esterno piccolina, ma sufficiente a rinfrescarsi dalla calura di questi giorni. Complimenti"

"we were surprised by the terrins. we didn't expect so much food. we have not been used to the resistance or something, but oh. we have tried it, it is an experience, and it is traditional! place next to the river with cozy and simple tables. but. it was really nice, fresh and we have a nice memory. perhaps a bit expensive, taking into account the amount of each terrine. Nevertheless, we could feel somehow satisfied and come safely to dinner."
