"This restaurant is located in a charming area, but the cleanliness of the hotel portion is a concern. The cushions in the room really need to be cleaned and there are multiple cobwebs at eye level in the gutters as you enter the rooms. There were also spiders in the room, with cobwebs even on the lamps. While this is not ideal, it can be easily fixed. Overall rating: 2 stars."

"The White Horse Inn is a fantastic addition to the village of Stourpaine. It’s a wonderful pub with a small attached shop. I've dined here many times, and the menu is impressive, catering to a variety of tastes, including excellent vegan and vegetarian options. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and it's great to see younger employees being guided by more experienced team members. The service is prompt, and the food is outstanding—clearly prepared in-house rather than purchased pre-made. Be sure to make a reservation in advance, as this pub is quite popular. Just a heads up, parking can be limited when the pub is busy."

"We are thrilled to have this wonderful restaurant right in our neighborhood! The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. There are plenty of gluten-free options for us to enjoy, and the hot chocolate is now my absolute favorite. I love that they use local ingredients, prepare the food fresh, and the portions are huge! They always make us feel at home, even with our little one in tow. The restaurant has excellent renovation facilities and plenty of space for a stroller if needed. We can't wait to come back again! Despite the rainy weather today, we left feeling satisfied and happy after our visit."

"I love the crown. Have been a fair few times. This visit was a bit disappointing though. The good bits… we booked last minute but were found a table and greeted warmly. The service was excellent throughout. Thank you. I love the ambience too. My husband enjoyed his meal though he found it quite salty. The big disappointment was the pizza. No claims were made about it but I took one look and a sniff and I think it was frozen pizza heated up. Good frozen pizza, I’ll grant you, but nevertheless frozen. I would not have ordered it had I known this. We had coffees which were good but were disappointed by the absence of a little cube of fudge. The staff didn’t know, but it was our wedding anniversary. Ah well! They forgot the mints with the coffee at our reception too… we didn’t complain as we just wanted a nice evening."

"Good Friday turned into a really bad one. We had not been to Beatons for 3 months because we said we would never go back, but they say time heals. The order for my wife and I was, Scrambled Egg on Toast, Crispy Bacon and Egg Sandwich (Poached), and 2 One Shot Lattes. The young waitress was very pleasant. Unfortunately she then went on to serve 2 customers that arrived after us which ment we didn 't get our drinks till after our cooked breakfast arrived. My wife had a third coffee and two thirds foam. Really bad result. The food came and my wifes egg on toast was one slice of toast, a bit mean. When I opened my sandwich the bacon was nearly raw, the fat around the outside was still transparent, this is supposed to be crispy as said on the Menu. I really couldn 't eat this, I asked the young waitress to have it cooked more so it went back to the kitchen. 10 mins later it returned with the same egg which was now 15mins old and cold, and the same bread. I would have thought a new sandwich would arrive back that would be done correctly, but no. I did eat it but it wasn 't nice. I went to pay (over £20) for the experience, no apology, just a request for the full amount. As she was young I didn 't make a fuss, just said 'you shouldn 't be charging me for the sandwich, it was awful, ' her response was to lift the card machine for the payment in silence. This is what happens when you employ school children to run your Tearoom and kitchen. Absolutely never again, and I live in the village and could have been a regular income. It will be interesting to see if I get a response to this."
