"one of our first days in uzès, we were wandering on the main road looking for a good place for lunch. the menu of the providedl drew our attention and the friendly owner on the sidewalk convinced us to try. happy we did. The food was delicious and the service was warm and friendly. it seems to be a family and popular establishment with the inhabitants. Of course, they were also very welcoming to tourists, but I am always happy to find a place that is not a tourist trap. We tried a salad, a slice of charcuterie, fried steaks and cod brandade, which is apparently a specialty of this region. It is a deliciously interesting concoction of potatoes and salted cod, with some parts of chorizo/pepperoni. It seemed a little strange but I'm so glad I tried it. It was absolutely delicious. I noticed that several other restaurants in the city serve him, and some even put him on a pizza. the version to the supplied was beautiful. The steak was also delicious. a note for Americans dining in france for the first time - they tend to serve their beef much more **** than we do in the United States, so if you ask it average, it will look more like medium-saignant. If it makes you disgust, be clear when you order and they will be happy to cook it according to your specifications. We chose rare medium, and it was certainly red inside! and delicious. We skipped dessert but took some good coffee. I would gladly go back and I would gladly recommend it to others."

Generally the food is good although in some areas it seems to have fallen off.

we stopped here for lunch and did not speak French, we ordered the table d'hôte and it was a pintade with tree rice and cooked vegetables, the best of all time. Ver carta

we ate here at noon on recommendation - good choices to the menu and dish of day - we opted for the latter - calf - excellent. served with a range of spring vegetables, good value for money and very tasty - what do you want more?? advised

we chose this place largely on the aroma of the dish of the day eaten on the outdoor tables. Our nose was just on the mark. My wife ordered the chicken-day dish at the Provencal and I had the niçoise salad. We ended up sharing both and being very satisfied with both. the service overcame all language barriers.

This restaurant was just perfect! we sat outside, enjoying the wonderful time of the end of September. we were ideally placed to spot serious people and to simply look at the daily agitation that makes the Uzès a great place to visit. it is the city that people visit - there is no church/cake/museum to visit but the city is beautiful. It's really worth the detour. We jumped on a bus from Avignon. the food was delicious - an excellent service and charming wines of the house. owner and really nice staff. Thank you very much! I met my friend in town for a lunch before Christmas and we decided that the menu of the day here was attractive. I love to eat game when I have the opportunity and the main dish of the day was the red-fruited jar. We both chose the same main dish and it was absolutely delicious. the price for 3 dishes with a glass of wine or an included coffee was 13 euros. I'm not used to taking an aperitif at lunchtime but as it was Christmas, we both ordered kir, one with wall and one with blackcurrant. It was the only disappointing part of the meal because so little liqueur had been added that we simply couldn't taste it. However, the meal in itself was very good. we added coffee to finish our very plea...

sometimes you meet with friends for a first coffee or a glass of wine at the beginning of the evening. Four times we have lunch and the last three times have been very disappointing and I cannot recommend this bar/restaurant for food. the first meal we had giant salads, one with seafood and the other with goat cheese and bacon, very copyy and delicious. the two second trips we had the dish of the day that was small portions and rather fade and not hot. we also felt quite squeezed and there are panels to hunt the morning drinkers from the terrace before lunch, which I hate to see. the fourth meal, we went in large group, quite late for lunch, I admit it, but we had a salad composed of 75% gre...

"The best meal I have had in a very long time. Located in a small picturesque village not far from Uzes. From the outside, it looks like a run-down bar-cafe, but the food is incredible! I had the daily special of seiche (cuttlefish) and steamed...potatoes w aioli sauce. The seiche was as tender as salmon steak. The sauce gave a wonderful flavor. Paradise. Served cold (i.e. more or less room temperature) with a nice side salad (and scrumptious tasty bread). Apx euros and worth every centime. The other dishes were euros. My wife and daughter-in-law and her daughter all ordered shrimp in saffron sauce and loved it, Served with great pommes frites (they let me taste). My son ordered veal milanaise( served with an excellent tomato-based sauce and accompanied with al dente pasta. The veal itself was very tasty, which is not always the case these days. After this meal, no room for dessert, but my wife and I could not resist the creme caramel which is unbelievably onctuous and smooth. The others ordered a chocolate fondu cake of some sort, but the creme was so good that I didn't want to dilute the flavor by tasting the cake which they said was intensely chocolaty. In sum, very highly recommended. Food as good as anything I have had in the very elegant St Germain, my previous home. BTW, it was a lovely, cool August evening so we ate outside on a little tree-shaded square surrounded by lovely old stone architecture. If you like that sort of thing, leave time for a stroll around the village. PS -One of the rare occasions to order Jupiler on tap [beer] at a restaurant in this area. Served nice and cold."
