"After the small snack in the “Pigbull” we then looked for a beautiful brewhouse. The Pütz is very close. No beer is brewed here, but everything is very authentic. In summer you can even sit well outside on the street. But at the moment we'd rather go inside. After entering, you enter the front guest room. If you go further through, there is another large area for guests. Blank tables, generously distributed. The seats are stable and comfortable. The facility is rustic. There are some pictures on the walls. The light is not too bright. We felt quite comfortable. Cleanliness Everything is neatly maintained. The stairs to the basement are located exactly between the two guest areas. The steps are already relatively steep. But you have to go through. The toilets are so clean, but it is quite rustic in the vault. Service The waiters (Köbes are flott and quite friendly. The empty glasses are quickly replaced by full. That's how it should be in a brewhouse. There are also foods here, of course. Many guests make use of it. But you won't be forced to order anything at all. Often the cards are taken in other houses and asked several times. Whether you want to order something. So here you can be quietly drinking mercenaries and talking about God and the world. The basket supplies one and leaves it to make a comment only occasionally. I don't think it's better. Beverages The house guides the mill-cool from the hay market as a barn. The glass (stange costs € 1.70. This is a normal price at the time in downtown. The span thus moves between € 1.50 to 2.00. The mill is spicy and not particularly herb. It belongs to the pleasant varieties for me. I like Gaffel and Sünner with the herb specimens; Sion is quite balanced and horror chamber, pulps and mills also have sweet sounds without pappy. Brauhaus Pütz was a smallish bar full of people on a Friday night. They serve Mühlen Kölsch as it's not a real brauhaus as far I know. Quite effective service.

This is a proper German local pub. It's not loud, it's not imposing, it's not fussy, it's great. The pork knuckle and schnitzel were delicious and we love the 200ml size beer glasses that just keep on re-appearing. Great no-fuss staff too.We look forward to returning.

Had a lovely pork knuckle here. They serve their own beer here by 0.2l 'shot' that get replaced very quickly as you drink them - it's a good way to drink lots without realising. A good traditional restaurant with few frills just good food and beer. Can be busy and hard to get a table. Friendly service.

Maybe it's true that Wurst macht Durst. The giant Wurst should give you plenty of Durst. So what better way to quench your Durst with a glass or two (or more if you like) of the local brew. This seems to be a popular Gaststaette. Go where the locals go. I'd gladly go here again next time in Koeln. Prost!

I actually think this place deserves a better rating, but i have to go on what i got. Arrived 6pm-ish, ordered a haxen (knockle) and was told it would be 20-25 mins, which was fine, weather was nice and i had cold beer and good people watching outside. Food arrived, red, **** at the bone, which is not the way i like my haxen.... it should have had at least 30 mins more. And i wouldnt have minded waiting. To be fair, the waiter who picked up my **** half eaten tray apologised. But still. Shouldn't happen. But i'm happy to give them another chance.

A big group of 20 of us made a booking and went for dinner this week on a cold but dry night. It was the best brauhaus we have visited in our 2 week stay in Cologne. Not in the city centre where rudeness seems to come with the address but only a couple of stops from the Dom and for us a short walk from where we were staying. What a fun night we all had and the waiters were fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble. I had the best Heaven and Earth (himmel und ard??) that just hit the spot. Lots of others had pork knuckle, a german favourite. As everywhere the servings were huge. Wonderful night. We will be back.

From the very moment you are in the door they push alcohol on you. It seems to be a policy. In fact I would it's what they do to mask very poor, salty food.It's one of those places where they staff seem to think you are lucky that they serve you. Any request or enquiry is turned down. I patiently waited for over an hour for food (yes - over an HOUR) on a medium busy night. Then I asked if the food was on the way - or maybe it was forgotten by accident. Then I was snapped at - as you might do to a child. I would have walked out but I was hungry enough to wait. I wish I had not. Found this place on TripAdvisor, just a short walk from where we were staying - and based on the previous reviews decided to try it - so glad we did. If you didn't know this place was here you could easily walk past it. If you did know it was here but you hadn't been in before, you might decide to walk on by because it doesn't look very exciting from the outside.
