"Very poor experience overall. Coffee was great but other than that, very much regretted the visit. Iced mocha had chocolate bits at the bottom all stuck together in a frozen block, so it was an iced coffee with a big lump of chocolate bit 's in. When asked about it, the Australian female working said that 's how we make it, it has chocolate bits in it. No attempt made to rectify the drink but a spoon was offered, presumably to eat the lump of iced chocolate? You certainly can 't taste the chocolate in the drink or suck any of the bits through a straw... This situation was made far worse when the same woman deemed it appropriate to loudly repeat to her colleague over whole cafe that, it 's meant to be like that and she 's drunk it all anyway, so what does she want, I offered her a spoon! This is some of the worst customer service I 've ever experienced. She was surely aware we could all hear her slagging the customers off behind their back. On top of this the pancakes were very average, bacon came out burnt to a crisp (literally shattered when attempting to cut). Again, we felt the need to complain which she was fine about this time, so took away the bacon and brought back some virtually raw bacon instead, which we had to again ask to be cooked properly. She was fine about this but still had to hear the back and forth with the chef. The keto salad bowl was the most boring, lackluster meal I 've ever been unfortunate enough to pay for. Very dry chicken no seasoning and everything separated. Could literally have not made it any more bland or boring other than a tiny bowl of dressing was included. In summary, nice coffee but avoid the drama of the staff 's bad attitude and incredibly average and dull food."

Charming little spot. It's not your typical café. The coffee is superb, and the eggs on toast are outstanding. The menu is diverse and intriguing.

The quality of the vegetarian wrap and the bap we've ordered were very poor. Both were very dry and not seasoned properly at all. The staff though was kind and the smoothies were great.

We are on our annual trip from New Zealand to visit family in Richmond, and we always make sure to stop by Butter Beans for coffee. I'm happy to report that the coffee is still outstanding, and the roasted muffin is fantastic as well. Ver carta

In the heart of Richmond near the train station. Had a great cup of coffee a croissant, lovely serve with a nice chilled vibe. Lots of great cakes to choose from all homemade and many of them vegan. Lovely sunny spot in the mornings a great window to watch the world go by.

The coffee here is exceptional and well worth the price given the dedication that goes into its production. The food always looks delicious, especially the baked goods, which I’m eager to try. It's a great spot that surpasses chain restaurants, as long as you can get a seat!

I absolutely loved this place! I met up with a friend, and the prices are incredibly reasonable—definitely some of the best in Richmond. I had a customized breakfast wrap, and they were very accommodating; it only cost £6! The staff was friendly and attentive without being overwhelming. I will definitely return for brunch with friends. It's such a great find! Ver carta

I had a somewhat uncomfortable experience at Butter Bean recently. After I requested a coffee in a 'to go' cup, specifying that I would be sitting down to enjoy some of it, I settled in with my drink. Then, a different staff member came out to clear tables and loudly questioned her colleague in front of everyone about whether "this man has paid for his coffee to sit in." She could have approached me directly, but instead, she implied in a rather rude way that I might be trying to be cheap, with other patrons listening. It felt quite disrespectful, in my opinion.

I really enjoyed the breakfast here. I had a vegetarian breakfast. There seemed to be a bit of confusion regarding gluten free. I was told there was no gluten free bread and then had toast on my plate. Due to being gluten sensitive I didn’t eat it. The food was quick made to my particular specification. They had bunderburg ginger beer which is amazing to have some Ozzie produce. The owner is from New Zealand and is on the ball and friendly. It appeared that there were some new starters who were conscientious and hard working. My partner enjoyed his cappuccino and I loved my chai latte. The cafe is a few strides away from the train/ tube station. Great ambience and a little gem in the heart o...

"It’s sort of become tradition for my wife I to treat ourselves to a breakfast out on our last day on holiday after leaving our cottage accommodation. We spent a week in Richmond; have never been to the area before and were pleased, after internet searching, to have found this lovely place. We had to leave our cottage by 10:00am and drove the short distance straight to Middlemoor Farm and, so, arrived quite early on a Saturday morning – we were the first to arrive. It was a lovely sunny day, which just emphasised the lovely surroundings. We were greeted by a lovely lady who asked us if we’d been before, to which we said no, and she explained that it was her first ever morning on breakfasts. She was most friendly and made us feel so-very welcome. There are plenty of tables inside and we chose to sit near a window overlooking a field with sheep grazing – I mean…what an idyllic place to have your breakfast. She and the Cook were so accommodating when we asked if we could both have a ‘full English’ but with veggie sausages instead of meat sausages bacon. I say accommodating because a veggie version was not on their menu and they had to look to see if they had any, which they did. That’s worth noting for those wishing not to eat meat – just ask ‘em and see. The breakfast, side plate of toast butter and pot of tea was just perfect – really tasty and we didn’t leave a thing. There’s a lovely shop attached with many gift items, very clean toilet facilities and in addition to the indoor seating, there’s plenty of outdoor seating too; some of which were covered with a gazebo during our visit. They have card payment facilities. Thank you to the staff of Middlemoor Farm Café for making our traditional last day breakfast out one to remember – we will be back if-staying in the area again."

"We had booked with booking.com . On arrival we were told that we didn't get breakfast included and that it would be £15 a head. We accepted this although thought was pretty steep for breakfast in a pub.The first morning we were given a menu clearly stating that breakfasts were included with all accommodation. I ordered poached eggs with smoked salmon and the other two ordered a full English breakfast which included homemade black pudding. The breakfasts arrived ,one of my poached eggs was runny, the other hard. The English breakfasts had no black pudding on the plates and when queried we were told that the deliveries hadn't arrived. Doesn't homemade imply made on or near the premises and as the owner states he is a butcher by trade I would expect he had made the black pudding. No alternatives were offered and presentation was distinctly lacking , with the baked beans poured over the other items. The next day I risked the full breakfast with black pudding which was lovely. But again the others had badly cooked poached eggs. We were offered no fruit juice, cereal or even toast and marmalade. On leaving we discovered the pub was unmanned , despite poor mobile signal. The owner turned up after 15 minutes. The bill was handed over, charging us for seven breakfasts when we had six, it was adjusted after he asked if one of us had had two breakfast one day? He served and cooked them so should know the answer to that. We were also then overcharged for nine coffee when three coffees and two teas had been ordered. Having had a family B and small hotel in York I advised him that standards were not what I was used to. I spoke to someone who had also visited recently and she stated a member of staff had charged them £15 per head for their similar breakfast where we were charged the menu price. Exceptionally poor menu, inaccurate advise saying breakfast included then charging us and probably the worst breakfast I have eaten in similar accommodation."
