"We just returned from our first visit to The Rock during the 5th day of our annual family holiday in North Devon. We were unsure if we wished we had discovered this beautiful place earlier or if we were glad we hadn't because we would have spent a fortune wanting to visit every day! We had an amazing meal with our 8-year-old son, who enjoyed the excellent service. As someone who is conscious about fitness and health, I am always meticulous about the meals I eat, but I treat myself when eating out. This was by far the best dining experience I've had in a long time. We started with the veggie deli board, which was delicious and could have been a meal in itself for two people. I ordered the Thai crab cakes as a starter but the staff were very accommodating and made it a main course with extra salad and some delicious chunky chips. My husband had the Thai green sweet curry and our son had a burger with cheese from the children's menu. For dessert, I had pancakes, my husband had sticky toffee pudding, and our son had a warm chocolate brownie. We were so satisfied with our meal that we indulged in coffee and truffles afterwards. I cannot recommend this place enough for its amazing food and service. We will definitely be back next year, and maybe even earlier if we can squeeze in another visit before we leave for home on Saturday!"

"Booked fish and chips twice, £28, for 5pm, no confermation email so had to go in and check order received, arrived to collect meal at 5 and ended up waiting 10 minutes while the meal was cooked, so booking for 5 was a waist of time. The fish was not quite cooked as some of the batter was still runny, and the chips were cut so thin that they were crispy but had no content, good way to save money on potatos. The fish and chips came with mint and pea humans, not great and tartar sauce, nice, also jars of ketchup from Essex and mayo, not required and very waistful. All in all for £28 not value for money or a great experience and would not recommend it, for the price."

"Love everything here and always served with a smile. Had lovely lockdown takeaways and a half price brekkie today. Our little boy loves your chicken noodle soup, lunch boards and brownies. Great for bringing family to when visiting for an evening meal too. Thanks for our fab brekkie today and sorry for our mistake with the bill lol ???????????????????????????? Donuts ????. It turned out to be so cheap in the end because of the eat out to help out that i then thought we owed you money ???????????? Absolutely yummy thank you.???????????????????? "I have refrained from writing a review until now in hopes that there would be improvement, but it seems unlikely. My family and friends have been regular patrons at South 16, and we all share the same sentiment - the owners seem to have given up. The food is subpar and poorly prepared in comparison to their competitors, and the inexperienced young girls working at the front of the shop often make mistakes. The prices on the website do not match those in the shop, and after speaking to others who have dined here, the feedback is not positive. Unfortunately, I will also be taking my business elsewhere. If the management is reading this, please reconsider the way you treat your customers. It is unacceptable to be rude and dismissive towards them, especially when mistakes are made with their orders. I was met with aggression and hostility when I raised a concern, and I was the only customer at the time. I will end my review here."
