Best fish chips shop in Devon!! We always start our holidays in Devon with a trip here and Squires never disappoints. Friendly staff excellent service!! We love Squires.

excellent fresh quality fish and chips, great service and atmosphere, perfect location to warm up after a windswept walk at saunton sands. the mini-Kid and chips is in fact a generous plate with cable fillet stacked in bright cripple and part of the right cut kartoffel chips. would recommend this place.

We joined the queue outside the restaurant as it was so busy and I wondered how long we were going to have to wait for a table but it was only about five minutes ... Because the staff had already given us a meal as soon as we sat down we were able to order and the lovely food turned up very shortly afterwards and it was lovely

Fantastic food and huge portion size! Their fish tasted very fresh and the batter was done right! The fish curry was surprisingly delicious and came with both chips and rice. We also upgraded the chips to a cheesy version which was amazing! The service was fast, the seats were spacious, clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this place for a quick but fine meal out.

It looks like a stylish upmarket restaurant, and there’s potential, but I found the menu pedestrian. Usual fish and chips fare, cod, salmon but no sea bass or other choice of fish dish. If you’re not into fish, there’s burgers plus vegetarian and vegan choice. My wine glass still wet straight out the washer, not impressed. By the looks of other guest plates, large portions. I had the vegetarian burger, (because I can have cod and salmon at home), which was not bad. A nice place as such but not one I’d return to again.

This has got to be amongst the best Fish Chip Restaurants in the UK. We have been visiting it for almost 40 years now and, although it is over 100 miles from home, it has not been unknown for us to make a day trip to Barnstaple for shopping and a meal here before returning home; and, on the way home from holidays in Cornwall to divert up to Braunton especially for a visit. It is the restaurant by which we measure all others we use and, although some have come close, we have yet to find one to exceed. Even in 2018 the prices are amongst the best, and barely seem to have risen for many years. WE LOVE IT!!!

I recommend to everyone and everyone to visit squires! please don't let them look really chic and wait for them to put out, the value ratio is amazing, it looks expensive and from outside I thought it was too posh for us lol, but it's pure quality, and anywhere where the people squeal to get into talking volumes. we came before the busy times both nights and managed to get in right. in the inner awaits a really friendly relaxed culinary experience. we ate there 2 nights while on holiday after we recommended to eat there. we can thoroughly recommend the fish and chips and the hot and spicy chicken burgers. we don't have anything that suits us!

on Thursday late visited. had not booked in advance, in which did they do not book for small parties. we waited for the waiting queue to dissipate across the street - this place is popular among tourists and locals alike - with a few ales outside sq. I would also recommend this place. very hospitable service on both locations. I was glad about the unbroken fish options they had, my choice was a seafood mix with some sorts of fish and garnel and cran.
