"Voyageurs café bar has always been a popular choice both by visitors to, and residents of Saint Cèré. The cafe bar is situated overlooking the car-park square, where on occasions the cars are replaced by an array of market stalls. There are plenty of tables and chairs outside and many have umbrellas providing both shade from the sun and shelter from the rain. The coffee served is really tasty and although Voyageurs doesn’t sell croissants pastries, you are encouraged by the staff to visit one of the boulangeries close-by to purchase whatever you want and then enjoy them with your drinks. A nice place to choose as a meeting point or just to sit and watch the world go by."

I have rarely seen such an unfriendly waitress, the impression of disturbing her every time we ask her something and she allows herself to speak to us in a way that borders on the acceptable, unacceptable Ver carta

bad location on stools too high and next to the wc each time the door opens or closes a glacial wind on the whole body. When we paid, we told the waiter. who told us and yes there are airflows. be careful or you are placed

On the main square you'll see this unassuming place which is great for coffee or a pastis. At lunch they serve simple traditional dishes with no fanfare, and it's exactly the French food that I love best: duck confit with potatoes, steak-frites, and whatever they have for plat du jour. Also the way it's decorated hasn't changed for the last 40 years or so, and I hope they never renovate, it's perfect. Friendly service too.

"I rarely write a review but tonight I am compelled by my own conscience. I had previously hear a commentary on this restaurant which made me want to visit. On the occasion of my birthday I thought I'd be in for a treat. We were given a cool but adequate welcome by the two gentlemen who administered our table. I use administered thoughtfully!! The menu was provided, we had to ask for a different menu for our son as although he has a good repertoire of foods, none were child friendly. I started of with the seafood starter which was advertised with basil. The chef I think opened a bag of frozen seafood mix, added in a few vegetables and served the slop in a cassoulet. The sauce had some flavour, but the unappetising grey boiled seafood certainly did not correspond with the menu description. Next I chose the lamb with the lentil. The lentils were fresh, light and with lovely flavour. I asked for my lamb very saignant and it arrived at least Medium but I actually didn't know what meat I was eating, flavourless, overcooked and no seasoning or love. I think the chef spent more time on the dish, inventing various designs to write in balsamic glaze on the plates. The staff were easily forgettable, the service not exciting and had no care, or investment in the needs of the diners. It was very adequate. I don't know what's happened in the past few months as I had heard a great review of this endroit its has obviously gone down the sewer. I was so dissappointed and the final cherry on my cheese plate was someone's hair, thankfully I had at that point eaten my demi Rocamadour, Auvergne and Entredoux. I live in a local village and am always looking for good local restaurants, sadly there is something not worth much with this Victor Hugo, pass on by .."
