"I have visited this restaurant a few times, but I am not a fan of their coffee as it is too bitter. Both my friend and I shared this sentiment. Despite this, we decided to give their lunch menu a try. We were disappointed with the salad we ordered, as it mainly consisted of iceberg lettuce with very few other ingredients for the price we paid. The two slices of cheddar cheese placed on top seemed out of place. The restaurant was busy with what seemed to be regular customers, causing the owner to appear a little stressed as he kept apologizing for any delays. However, if the food had been better, I'm sure no one would have minded the wait."

As a regular visitor to Café Eleven, I can honestly say that the coffee/tea, food and general atmosphere is excellent. Well worth a visit for a rural café experience with good food and drink and a welcoming and friendly ambience! I think it says a lot that we keep coming back on a regular basis!!

This community cafe is truly wonderful. They are dog friendly and always have something delicious on their menu specials board. Karen goes above and beyond to make patrons feel welcome... so much so, that my family ended up buying a house in the village! I frequent this place too often and it's taking a toll on my waistline.

Discovered this little Gem whilst walking through the village located just next to the mail garage. Received a very nice welcome and enjoyed some perfectly made fresh sandwiches together with a delightful large drinking chocolate. Perfect to suit the weather outside. The venue offers a fine selection of fresh home made cakes, soups and sandwiches. Great atmosphere and well patronised by the locals. Ver carta

I visited this café last week on my bike and ordered coffee, cake, coke, and ice cream. When I went to pay, I realized they didn't accept contactless payment. No problem, they told me to come back another time and drop the money in. A few days later, I returned, paid, and enjoyed an amazing cookie dough dessert, more coffee, cake, and ice cream. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they now offer contactless payment. It's rare to find such friendly and great service these days, and I will definitely be returning on my bike.

This cafe was such a gem to find ! My boyfriend and I were travelling through Shrewsbury and love a nice coffee and we stumbled across Karen’s cafe eleven. Karen was quick to answer our Facebook message about opening times (10-4) and gave us a warm and welcoming greeting when we came in the next day. The coffee is lovely, the food is delicious and Karen is a lovely lady ! We loved it so much we came back the next day and took some coffee beans back to London with us ! If you’re in the area and enjoy a nice coffee this place is a must visit !!

"Beautifull hotel, I guess one can call it trendy , but I just don 't understand how they can justify the price £130/night and that most of the time will go to £160 as they run out of entry level ones. So I guess the answer is there because people pay for it! But let 's just make some relevant comparisons Birmingham Grand literally in the heart of the city, brand new, 5* hotel, with all recently decorated rooms to the highest standard is £135 15 for breakfast. Needless to say rooms are air conditioned, fully equipped and genuinelly very posh. Hotel has lifts, has porters and the service is top notch. The Lion is barelly 4* just for trendiness alone, but the actual quality of furnishing is closer to 3*, has no lift and you will be lugging your bags up and down mutiple flights of stairs (and I mean multiple like 8 going up and down) trought narrow corridors to mediocre room (nothing wrong with it just mediocre) which isn 't even air conditioned. Sorry, I just don 't get it. That said restaurant is good fully fine dining if you are into it. Althought in my oppinion it doesn 't fit into the rest of the hotel. So it is ~3.5* hotel which is very youghtfull and trendy and then you get 5* fine dining with very tiny portions for the dinner (which is not criticism of restaurant, it is very good on it 's own). In conclussion I just don 't get what niche this hotel is filling, who stays there and why. The price for the rooms should be £75 95 tops. Shreesbury is not exactly prime tourists destination either (at least shouldn 't). But it seems it is working out for them, I just would not recommend it, I would not stay in it again and it is definatelly not worth the price. Neither in isolation, nor in comparison."

"Open since 1970 and located on Mardol, one of Shrewsbury’s oldest streets @thecurryhouseshrewsbury serves locally sourced ingredients married with traditional spices and chillies from the Indian subcontinent, a match made in heaven. 5 5 Recommended Price No better way to kick off proceedings but with popadoms, chutneys and fresh onion salad. On to appetisers and there are so many tempting dishes to choose with many of these exclusive to the curry house. Our first time trying Pani Puri. A sweet and spicy hot street food snack filled with chickpeas and tamarind sat on a bed of crunchy, nutty Bombay mix. With a building but pleasant heat, definitely something everyone should try. The quality and freshness of the seafood was exceptional. Spicy king prawns were huge and cooked to perfection. Charred on the outside for flavour but juicy and meaty. Trio of King scallops were beautifully tender and of a good size with sweetness from the tamarind liquor. Lamb rogan Josh tender lamb shoulder in a medium hot ginger tomato and onion sauce. A strong take on a traditional favourite of ours. Fresh from the Tandoor a generous mix of marinaded chicken, lamb, king prawns and a chargrilled lamb chop. The Tandoori deluxe massalla sauce was the perfect blend of sweetness melting into a subtle heat which brought the dish together perfectly. The curry house takes traditional dishes and flavours from the Indian subcontinent and elevates them to a level beyond expectations. Thank you for our invite to share the exciting menu created with passion and creativity. "Fantastic range of small dishes and meals for lunch and dinner. The menu ranges from scandi to oriental, so something for everyone. The menu is clearly marked with allergens, including what meals can be adapted. The chicken is halal and vegan and vegetarian options are plentiful. The cocktail and mocktail menu is great and they do one of the best espresso martinis in Shrewsbury. The decor is modern and comfortable and there is plenty of space. As a wheelchair user, I can get into the ground floor and to a table. The outside seats are up a small step, but the whole front of the building is a retractable wall of windows, so I can still get the feeling of eating outside in good weather. The service is friendly and knowledgeable about allergies, the menu and the wine list. The staff are helpful and unobtrusive. The only difficulty for me (hence the 4 star review) is that the accessible bathroom is next door, in their sister bar, Libertine. Unfortunately, libertine isn't open the same hours as HotRS, so I can only use it at certain times. The ladies does have a lock on the door, so staff have cleared the ladies toilets, which allowed me to take my chair in and lock the door. I had to walk a couple of steps to get into a stall but my chair was safely with me. Of course, there is also no alarm cord, but they stood outside the door so would have heard if I shouted for help."
