"We booked this restaurant after reading the reviews while touring Scotland what a disappointment. When we arrived we were shown to a table straight behind the door and as it kept opening and shutting it blew a massive amount of cold air in. As both parents and staff allowed 2 young children to go in and out every few minutes it got a bit much. We were given the menu and told specials were on the board. No description or recommendation. Also they did not say the board also goes over the top of the fish on didplay. I had crab claws to start the mayonnaise was lovely and what I could get out of the claws was nice but I was given no instruments to get into the claws and they were not broken enough for them to just pull out. I ordered the turbut for main as did my husband it was a small fillet with the skin correctly removed but it was loaded with garlic butter sauce you couldn't taste the fish for the garlic. Also which was worse I don't know what they did to the top of it but it was yellow and like thin rubber. We had to peel it off it was not good. I didn't complain at the time because I am not used to having a fillet of turbut. When I have had it before my husband and I have shared a turbut presented whole at the table. I have only written this today after speaking to some friends who said i should put something on because there had to be something wrong for the top of the fish to be yellow and leathery. You might guess but I won't be going back."

Had a delicious fish and chips lunch here last week. The fish was light and flaky and the coating was grease-free. Nice atmosphere, cozy, great staff.

Visiting this restaurant is a must if you go to Mull. Wonderful first class chef prepared food, served by friendly staff, in a great atmosphere. A very memorable evening!

Great selection of fish and seafood dishes in a relaxed café setting. View over the harbour. Good service. Non fish/seafood options limited. Wine list basic. Good value for money.

I order Italian fish stew. It was so awesome that I wish I had asked for the recipe. But they have so many awesome dishes it's hard to believe this little place has a restaurant this good. One of the best restaurants I ever ate at Ver carta

We had a list of places to eat at during our trip to Mull, as we like to experience a variety of venues. We weren't disappointed in any of them but Cafe Fish ensured that we visited twice! The food was delicious with a wide selection of very fresh fish we saw the boat landing it earlier in the day! Service was also excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was friendly and helpful.Heartily recommended!!

This was by far the best seafood we had in Scotland in 17 days (including a Michelin star restaurant)! First off, we missed our ferry, and we were so disappointed we would miss dinner, as we booked our reservation weeks in advance. I called the restaurant and the woman that answered was so kind. She said that, if we took the next ferry, we'd be 15 minutes late and they would hold the table. I had the Smoked Fish Platter which was very large and very tasty. My husband had a wonderfully flavored scallop special and, while it was smaller, it was very good. We'd agreed to share our meals in advance; so, it all worked out. We ended with ice cream which was so creamy and delicious. Thanks so much... Ver carta

This place is fabulous and really is a must if you visit Mull. from the outside Cafe Fish does not look too impressive but do not let this out you off. We waited over an hour for a table (we hadn’t booked I’m not 100% sure if you can) given the reviews we had read on TA nobody minded waiting for the table. It was a beautiful day and we sat on one of the tables outside with a drink.Anyway, the inside is lovely very relaxed atmosphere. It’s a tiny restaurant so you can see the chefs preparing the food loved this touch. The food we had was honestly one of the nicest meals I’ve ever had in my life beautifully served and so very aesthetically pleasing, but also tasted absolutely delicious. I orde...

We stayed in Tobermory for 2 nights while on a tour with Rabbie 's Tours (AMAZING experience). I booked this restaurant before we left home, as the reviews on Tripadvisor were very favourable. Glad I did! This is a tiny restaurant and it books very quickly. If we hadn 't booked ahead, we would probably not have chosen it; the building doesn 't inspire a lot of confidence. But when you climb the stairs to the second floor and enter the restaurant, it all changes. It 's a pretty room, with a lot of ambiance and a lovely view of the harbour. We were very lucky to be given the corner table with the best view. But the food!! THAT 'S what really counts, and it was EXCELLENT! I ordered a seared hal...

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"
