"This really is a very good cafe in a part of Derbyshire not necessarily visited by all tourists. The menu offers a good choice at prices which come as a pleasant surprise when one comes from further south. The food was very good, with meat of good quality and vegetables cooked properly (not over). My mash was good. The place was steadily busy and service pleasant. If you are in Ripley or, perhaps nearby Butterley, this cafe really is worth a visit."

The restaurant is very nice and clean with plenty of seating. The food was well-presented and delicious, with generous portions but a bit on the pricey side. Despite this, I would definitely visit again as we were made to feel welcome, the service was impeccable, and the hot drinks were actually hot, unlike most places where they are only warm.
