"If this review were based solely on our initial server, it would have been a one-star rating. We have visited Cafe Rouge before and always enjoyed it, so when we saw they were offering Afternoon Tea, it seemed like the perfect choice when we were unsure of what to order. We were greeted and seated, but things quickly went downhill. We requested two croque champignons instead of one croque monsieur and one croque champion, due to one of us being vegetarian. After some confusion, our order was finally taken, but then we waited for a long time with no sign of our food. Despite other tables receiving their orders after us, we were told there had been a mistake and our order had not been placed in the kitchen. The server was not apologetic until the manager intervened. The manager was very apologetic and made sure we were taken care of, even offering us drinks as an apology. Finally, when our Afternoon Tea arrived, it was delicious. The scones were fresh, the cakes were beautiful, and the croque champignon was excellent. The Prosecco was also very good. While the manager’s efforts saved the day, I cannot say that the overall visit was Very Good or Excellent due to the rocky start."

Very central -opposite Lowrey. Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent food. A bit pricy because of wine prices

Very disappointed, it was more like a cheap pub lunch and not of the standard that I have had previously Very few staff for a pre theatre meal

One of the shops has very own and unique designs and lines, and so it also fascinates us when we come here. But the quality of food, drinks and service is very good. Very worth the money.

What a dour place. Cold, uninviting and the food wasn't up to much either. It must have been the most expensive bowl of lettuce i have ever bought. This was a Caesar Salad, A bowl of lettuce, a hand full of croutons and 5 (count...

Before starting work, I visited this restaurant for a meal. Both managers, Hannah and Louise, were absolutely amazing. They made me feel very welcome. The food was good, but the hospitality was impressive. I will definitely be coming back.

We had an early dinner at the restaurant and it was our first time there. Onion soup arrived cold but was fixed in no time and the service was very friendly and helpful. I then had moules frites and my partner boeuf bourguinion and both...

Disappointing food for the money, food not hot. So understaffed they could hardly speak to customers for a second. Pre show meal which we started at 5pm and left at 6:40pm. Others were waiting ages for food and service. Sadly put off this chain.

The service was extremely slow. The waitress was pleasant but not at all knowledgeable about the menu. Starters were ordered but they never arrived. The main courses arrived and the waitress then asked if we had had our starters??we were then informed that the starters...

The simple meals at this restaurant were very disappointing. I ordered the steak frites and had to send the first one back because it was cold. The second one came with limp fries and a chewy, gristly steak. The mushrooms on toast were tasty but lukewarm. The restaurant wasn't busy, so there was no reason for the poor quality of the food. However, they did take the steak frites off the bill.

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
