"Update see below: There is a restaurant in the house at the roundabout in Schöneiche on the southeastern Berlin outskirts for a long time. Even that respects a Greek is not new. The “Irodion” opened in September 2017 is new after the operator change. Through the new name, I wanted to see how the store is... and immediately caught the opening day (without a big brimborium). When entering/out from/to the in-house parking lot it is essential to observe the tram traffic, the access crosses its tracks. Inside, the “Irodion” presents itself bright and modern. The upholstered chairs with the high backrest proved to be extremely comfortable. In addition to the guest room there is a conservatory and an outdoor area. The service was very friendly, polite and attentive. The card gave a first ouzo. The menu offers the usual dishes of Greek cuisine in the upper middle price segment. I opted for lambhaxe in the oven with vegetables and garlic potatoes for 17,90 €uro. Because of the oven dish it took a little longer to serve. The haxe, which then came to the table, was delicious – butterfly meat. Unfortunately, the vegetables were pushed into the oven together with the haxe – it was quite boiled. On the opening day the kitchen had to find its rhythm, because the garlic potatoes came to the table only 10 minutes after the haxe (Great apology from the host included). This was not so bad, because the haxe was brittle and needed a few minutes of cooling before you could start eating. In maneuvercriticism, the host promised that he would bless the cook to bring vegetables to the guest in the future. With the bill there was another ouzo on the way home. Conclusion: Nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. Because of the kitchen deficiencies, I give well-meaned 4 stars with opening day bonus. I hope for the “Irodion” that it is possible to fix the mentioned weaknesses in the kitchen. Nevertheless – recommended. Update 6.4.2018: Second visit, already to see what's on the choir of the critics. My positive impression of the first visit has been confirmed. Even today the service was friendly and attentive. The food (feta filled bifteki and pommes as well as a salad €14.80) was good and plentiful. The non-alcoholic yeast wheat beat to beech with a good 4,20 €uro. In some dishes, however, one has somehow turned on the price screw, as black edding beams show in the menu. I think that's a little canteen level. A restaurant in the higher middle price segment should already afford menus without strings and handwritten changes. In addition to the standard card, there is also a daily ticket. There's nothing going to change on my star assignment."
