"Only 4 stars but could be 5: The place smells of whatever cleaning fluid they use. It is horrible and not conducive to eating or drinking. The smell of bleach is quite off-putting. Luckily it was a nice day so we ate outside but sadly all of the benches had filthy ash-trays on them and also fag ends were evident all over the place including between the slats of the benches. They don't seem to bother cleaning the outside area. And the ladies toilet was dirty. The food was good though, and reasonably priced. If they sort out the cleaning issues then we will become regulars."

Bar staff brilliant apart from one. Young woman who apparently thinks she is a manager is extremely rude and talks to customers like they are dirt.

Went for Sunday lunch today. Staff friendly enough. Food absolutely terrible. This place used to be very good. Avoid. Left over food pictures attached. Still got charged over £100 (this with 20% off as we complained)

Had a lovely meal here tonight. Great value, delicious food and outstanding service. Whitebait was amazing, burger and chips and cod and chips absolutely delicious. Hosts were very welcoming and attentive. Will be back.

We booked for lunch but unfortunately the chef was ill. They apologized and stood us a round of drinks for our trouble. These things happen, l should have left as contact number. The place looked we'll set up to manage COVID. The beer (Timothy Taylor) was a good pint.

It started well but went downhill rapidly. The ale was a tad on the warm side and was stale. When the food arrived it was good, although my partner's meal arrived without the trimmings as stated on the menu. The desserts were the best part of an average meal. What spoilt the experience was the slow service and couldn't care less attitude of the server.

Sorry, I have to be honest. I was very disappointed with the sunday roast. The beef was nice but the roast potatoes (all 4 of them) were obviously of the frozen variety. The Yorkshire pudding resembled a flat saucer and was tasteless. The cauliflower cheese which you pay extra for was dry and stuck to the dish it was served in. Overall a very disappointing way to spend over a tenner for a meal. Wouldn't return.

We went along for Thursday steak and chips for £10:00 to include a drink. To be honest, we were not expecting much at that price. Well how wrong can you be? Great service. The food was very tasty, cooked to our liking, presented well and was fantastic value. I do love my custard so when I asked for ‘oodles’ of custard, that is exactly what I got. The manager, chef and bar staff were very attentive and all had lovely persona’s. We will most certainly be going back there.

Travelling from Oxford to Lincolnshire we were both getting hungry but didn't want the services fast food. I asked my car to find a restaurant and this pub came up first so we went off the dual carriageway and followed directions. Despite not having a booking we were still greeted with a warm, friendly welcome. They checked to see if there was enough Sunday roast available to accommodate 2 more which there was. Two roasts, 2 drinks, 2 desserts £33. Excellent food and service. Thank you

A choice of meats served with a selection of vegetables (no choice here). Food was well presented but broccoli was hard and under cooked. Portions were adequate for the price. There was a good range of puddings but there was no custard available, although it was offered with the vast majority of puddings. The restaurant seating area was quite chilly I believe the pub is under new management so, hopefully, things will improve. Our first family outing to this pub. May give it another try in the spring.

"wow, what a jewel! my wife and I ate on Sunday afternoon on this “plum” of a restaurant. I was amazed to have studied the menu before booking to see that a very large of the dishes in the offer shown free as gluten, something that has now paramount recently been diagnosed with celiac disease. there was a free dish served by popcorn, which had been aromatized with its own wobble the flavor of the restaurant, which was a real tastener. we followed with the curry goat, which served as a generous part, reisbäsen, a part curry goat gravy, jerk ripen, plantain, homemade coleslaw, and fries, who had blown the same twist of hurdles as the popcorn on them. we also chose some of the immersing sauces to give an additional hauch of choking only for the case. we have the idea of ordering also a plastered steak (they know how it is when they are really hungry), but were recommended against this by the dame who advised our order that the portions were quite generous and we had ordered a lot, and moreover we could always add to the order when our food had arrived. we also ordered a bottle of pino grigio to ash it al down. What do you want me to say? this was by far the best tasting and well cooked and served Caribbean cuisine that we have experienced, it was exceptional. we had no place for a pudding, but there was a lot to choose on the menu. When the bill came, we were thrilled and amazed that it all came around 60, which also excellent price-performance ratio. we will definitely be back, I recommend this jewel. enjoys!"
