"So ,after reading up on the restaurant and the taxi driver to the place also affirming what a good choice we made ..sadly it was all downhill from there last night .We arrived 10 minutes early which seemed to be a massive problem to them for some reason ..bearing in mind there was only another 2 tables eating .we took our table and ordered some drinks..my bottle of morretti was pretty warm but no problem. The food ..my partner ordered the mussels..when they came we were immediately transported back to the 70s ..bland is an understatement..some badly defrosted prawns sat on some buttery garlic sauce and a comical garnish .Next up was veal ordered by my partner..again no taste at all in a cream sauce with some boiled out veg ..I had a pasta dish that was bland ..even after I'd heavily salted it .really felt like an Italian restaurant that had rested on its old laurels...safe to say we wouldn't recommend but it was packed out when we left so what do we know"

"Friends took us here after a visit to the cinema. I wasn't expecting Italian food to be as spicy and unfortunately it did distract from the normal Italian flavours in used to and the wine. It was nice food, cooked very well. Starter was the best part followed closely by dessert and the main trailing in a distant 3rd place. There's no sound deadening which the place definitely needs; sound bounced about and it was loud. I'd return to try something else but not sure this would be a familiar haunt. Vegetarian options: The dish I had, Penne Arabbiatia, was too spicy for my liking, especially with the foods subtle flavours and pinot wine."

"We had a wonderful birthday dinner that was truly memorable. Since we were a large group, we opted for the set menu, which turned out to be delicious. We ate so much that we took some leftovers home! Two members of our party are vegetarian, and they enjoyed the vegetarian menu, which offered plenty of delicious options. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout the evening. Overall, it was a fantastic night."

"We entered The Lord Raglan not knowing what we wanted to drink, and the girl behind the bar asked us what we normally drank and then gave us little samples of two pale ales, we then chose one which was lovely and fruity, and she...informed us it was from a local brewery. We were given the choice of a table or booth seat, and were promptly asked for our order. I had the Big Smoke burger which was literally the best meal I have ever eaten! It was topped with pulled brisket, which was so tender and flavourful, and just the right amount of melted smoked cheddar. The fried were crispy without being greasy and perfectly seasoned. I chose to have the homemade Chipotle slaw as an extra, which led me to abandon my ketchup and dip my fries into that instead, so delicious I then had the chocolate S'mores Brownie, which was so gooey and rich, it was almost too much, but not quite. The whole vibe of the place was awesome, rustic, cosy, great music. The staff couldn't be more efficient and attentive, Harriet served us and really made us feel at home, polite, and friendly, and even went the extra mile to come find me outside whilst I was smoking to ask me which ice cream I wanted with my dessert, rather than just guessing. If I was local I would be eating here ALL THE TIME "
