It's a warm kitchen that's just as good for decor, atmosphere, diversity and taste of dishes. The margot is passionate about its business and easily shares its recipes. It was a very good country and family cuisine.

we can't come to "the margot" by chance, clermont of excideuil is really out of the beaten paths, except for connoisseurs. Real local products. small table d'hôte in a perched village. the place is authentic and the dishes too. the cook prepares all the dishes typical of the perigord with products that it takes directly into its garden or in the surrounding farms. he almost like being invited to the table of a grandmother. and since all products are fresh, the menu changes over the seasons which is very appreciable. It is also possible to do cooking courses to learn how to cook what we ate. this activity is very appreciable, playful and it is one of the few space to propose this.

during one of our regular stays in dordogne, having bought a smart guide of dordogne I discovered with surprise a restaurant address "in the margot" to clermont of excideuil. it is advisable to book so that margot prepares the meal according to what you want to taste. We were taken here for lunch by local French people who had heard about it, so it was a first time experience for the four of us. This tiny restaurant is located inside a home in a small hamlet outside of Excideuil, France. We were greeted in the parking area by the owner and she walked us through a gate into a patio area and into the dining area. The ambiance is typical old Perigord with stone walls and timber ceilings. On the walls were photos of the grandparent's, parents and family weddings plus other interesting things.
