"We recently had lunch here and it was ok, because of the mixed reviews of the food. We were welcomed by a friendly hostess and sat at our table. The interior is basic, tables small, chairs not the most comfy. We decided for a main...course instead of the menu's. I had a platter which was quite ok: foie gras, a few slices of margret de canard, a bit of cheese, salad and a lot of cooked potatoes. My wife had the ris de veau: tiny little pieces with automatically too much bread crumbs didn't bring much joy. One shouldn't serve such a high class dish this way. A bit of an insult to the French kitchen. Limited wine offer with decent prices. Staff very friendly."

A quiet time in February; an ideal place to stop in the middle of an agreeable market town; not necessarily a lot to see but the castle is a must.

family hostel. very warm welcome. Dinner still possible at 9 o'clock. quiet and pleasant terrace on a small square. foie gras, delicious. excellent desserts.

This establishment has recently changed ownership - the menu has been rejuvenated and now offers more modern dishes rather successful.However, the wait is very long and it is a shame.

Lovely traditional French hotel , the at Le Fin Chapin are really helpful , we arrived st in the evening and was able to eat in the restaurant , the play was euro for courses great food . Would recommend and will...visit again

This restaurant is a warm and friendly place. We were advised to dine here by our BnB hosts after a late arrival. It is family owned and operated. We had a delicious dinner with local wines suggested by the mesdames. We loved it

I know this restaurant; ;; but there last Sunday, disaster, 1 hour waiting between the order and the hors d'oeuvre, back of cod (fresh ??????? ) without great flavor, dessert very medium, all for 26 €, whipping of g. next time I will pass without stopping there

one night a dinner to discover this friendly hotel restaurant. the reception is warm and the original dinner mixing local products and Asian notes.The service is attentive, especially for our 7-year-old son and it is worthwhile. the room is basic, clean and without fioriture. Good hotel to make a step

but it lacks the sparkle, the kitchen is good the products have the fresh air may the taste seems quite standard. the fish of the child meal is well cooked but very small quantity. the prepared tartare is classic without the perigourdine salad is not memorable - the foie gras is very good on the other hand. brief correct address on a terrase with a good space in front for children to play and the smiling server is a good point.

We have been staying near Excideuil for three years and always admired the terrace of this hotel/restaurant. We were a party of five and were welcomed by the waiter ,who turned out to be english and was very understanding about our stumbling french efforts. I...chose a salad (imaginaire) which had local foie-gras ,goats cheese and a very good mix of other ingredients. I really enjoyed it . The rest of the party had steak which was cooked as requested and was well received . A very nice evening .
