Chinese Village - Carta

Fairy typical old style Chinese restaurant. Food came quickly and was very nice. I would go back if in the area.

Had a carpet beetle on my placemat then I turned around to see more on windowsill next to me. Felt sick and had to leave

Lovely food but I was only person in for lunch. Having said that, two parties were turned away around 13.00 saying takeaway only. Bit confusing. Also waitress decided to vacuum whilst I was eating

awful, food bland. Missing items. Long wait to get them. Pretty poor over all. Not to mention the 60 attempts to get through on the phone to inform them of the missing items. Much better places to eat In Callander

We ordered for collection and it was ready the minute we arrived. The portions are extremely generous so be wary of over ordering. The quality of the food was excellent piping hot and very reasonably priced. Despite visiting Callander for many years, we had never tried food from here we have certainly been missing out! There is also a fantastic restaurant if you want to eat in. I would highly recommend. Ver carta

A few reasons for the score: 1. We got takeaway from this restaurant two years ago and it was, hand on heart, the best Chinese takeaway I’d had in years, fast forward two years and it was pretty poor. From a 10/10 Kung po chicken to a 3/10. 2. They missed two portions of chips from our order, which was for the kids (who were devastated) and we only realised when we had travelled a hour ten miles back to where we were staying. I messaged them and they did not apologise. 3. No means of ordering online. This is 2024.

We 've just had takeaway from Chinese Village Callander, and I can honestly say, this has to be the best Chinese meal we 've had in a long time The place is under new management. We were served within 15 mins of ordering which is second to none service. Also, and this is the big plus fir me the rice dishes are served in the classic silver foil tray, which I much prefer to the plastic ones I highly recommend trying Chinese Village, if you haven 't already, and if we 're ever in Callander again, then yes, we 'll be going back 100

The website advertises an 11.30pm closing time. I phoned and placed an order around 10.10pm for takeaway and was given the default ' that will be ready in 20 mins ' reply. Turned up just after 10.30pm and as i was approaching they locked the doors and turned the lights off. Tried to call them but no one answered the phone. They know my mobile number on their system as they always know my name when i call. Outrageous behaviour and extremely poor way to treat customers. It 's already poor quality and one of the most expensive chinese takaways I 've seen in scotland. Its certainly not justified by the food or quality of service. Avoid Ver carta
