"We have visited the Afan Tavern several times but last Friday evening was exceptional, the Scampi was so well cooked and full of flavour and such a generous portion as always. The Jam Roly-poly dessert was just as gorgeous which oozed with the most delicious jam and moist fluffy sponge, the ice-cream gave it a lovely hot/cold contrast. The Shiraz wine we choose accompanied the meal so well. We are looking forward to returning."

"There were a decent amount of vegan options with 5 pies, mushroom risotto, lasagne, and a tart as possible mains and a few starters and sides. I enjoyed a lovely “swedey Todd” pie (by mr nice pie) with mash and gravy. The mash was a little bland and the gravy a little watery but overall a very nice meal. My mum had the vegan lasagne with chips and loved it. We decided not to have pudding, but there was one vegan option of brownie and ice cream (I noticed that this is a new edition since January)."

"Great food at excellent pricing. Nice to see a menu that 's heavy on specialties and unusual ones rather than the typical standards although they are there too Poppadoms and chutney were nice. A lovely coconut one Mains were mango chicken, chicken biryani and one that you won 't find elsewhere , as written in the menu. All were packed with flavour and that won 't find elsewhere one was truly amazing with real depth of flavour and just a little mouth tingle. Lemon rice was lovely They don 't serve alcohol so we had a jug of mango lassi. It was fresh made and was very tasty but a little thin. I 'd still have it again though Service was excellent Pricing, service and quality make this stunning value and I 'd highly recommend."

"I ordered sausages, regular chips, and Irish curry sauce. The portion of chips was generous, and the sauce containers are large enough for sharing. They did a fantastic job! It would be wonderful if the options were fully vegetarian, but it seems that fish is much more popular, unfortunately. They sell water in cans to reduce plastic waste, and they are also happy to refill water bottles. They even offer snacks and drinks for dogs. The prices for dining indoors are significantly higher, so we chose to sit outside, which was lovely. The interior looked beautiful, but we opted to enjoy the fresh air despite the pouring rain. Overall, it was a very positive experience."

"We walked in for dinner around 7pm on a Friday based on good reviews and the restaurant was completely empty. That said, a large group of young men came in after we'd ordered. Service was fine, but after enjoying our poppadoms the experience left a lot to be desired. The butter chicken was quite sweet and coconutty, more like a korma. It was also swimming in sauce as you can see in the picture. The half chicken tandoori looked like a showstopper when it came out of the kitchen, but was dry and flavourless. The chicken jalfrezi was far too spicy (I love spice). It seems like this restaurant has been a local favourite in the past, maybe we picked the wrong menu items but this didn't seem like authentic curry and we won't be returning unfortunately."
