I give 1 star because I can't give less. The restaurant is good, but only on the surface. Very slow service. The space between one seat and another is minimal and this prevents privacy. "We've been to prove that we've heard about it well from everyone. The place is very nice and cozy also the waiters are nice. As good pizza the dough, it is not easy to find a dough made well. The only observation I can do is that the pizza was a bit burnt under but the center was very soft . Probably had to stay an extra minute but maybe for the rush it was moved to the oven it burned; the sauce then seemed a little salty and we expected that we might be asked for feedback but no one asked us if it was okay ."

"We read an article in Travel and Leisure from August 2011 that we saved. Admittedly, we visited 2 years after publication. The article describes the restaurant in glowing terms as the best meal I have in Trieste. The author raved about the fritto misto. We ate here recently and were disappointed. First of all, our meal cost $190 for two of us. We had 2 courses. First was amberjack tuna that my wife enjoyed. I had octopus that was just ok, pretty chewy, although the one really interesting part was the tomato ice cream accompaniment. We both had fritto misto and both felt it was mediocre. Wines were far more enjoyable than the food and apparently drove up the price. If cost is no object, you will find the restaurant charming and the service attentive. Silence in this place is akin to a church service. There are only 6 tables. It is a 5 minute walk from the piazza."

"This place does something different to the wide range of pasta, pizza and seafood done so well elsewhere in Trieste; it celebrates the wide and diverse culture of food in the area. The meat and cheese sharing platter was probably the best we'd ever had, and the schnitzel and baked ham hock were superb. We opted for a salad side as there had been bread with the starter what a salad! It could have been a main in its own right. It also had a wide range of wines and beers the house red was particularly good. As it was far from full we had the opportunity to chat with the chef/owner a thoroughly engaging chap whose passion for the cuisine of the region was wonderful. Thoroughly recommended and very very good value a real find!"

"Siamo andate a pranzo in questo locale la vigilia di Natale. Il proprietario una persona veramente molto gentile, ci ha accolte come un padre accoglie le sue figlie.Il cibo DELIZIOSO: ci ha servito come antipasto un paté di baccalà con del pane caldo tostato.Abbiamo poi preso due primi: Gricia e risotto con zucca e salsiccia. Entrambi la fine del mondo, veramente tutto gustoso e con porzioni abbondanti.Il locale è accogliente e ben arredato.Veramente molto consigliato.Torneremo sicuramente"

"I first went in to buy some beer to take home. The waiter spoke great English and was very helpful with the recommendations. Later we went back with some friends for lunch and the food was surprisingly good for, what I thought was, a craft beer place. You can go there just for a drink, to buy some beers for home or to have a good bite."
