"We have always loved cote wherever in the country it’s a place we gravitate too, however we have noticed a decline in quality in 2024 that makes us reevaluate if it’s still our go2. The cheese soufflé was deciding lacking in cheese. The sauce used to have mustard in it that cut through the cheese but alas today hardly any cheese and the sauce had zero mustard in it. Just a white bland thick liquid. An example of using less ingredients for the detriment of the customer. My beef bourguinon has always been tender and falls apart, yet today it has sloppy fat attached to it that formed almost half of the meat in the bowl. For £20 it was poor, poor, compared with previous, clearly using a substandard product. I of course realise that the industry has been hit by crippling issues, however when the prices have gone up and the quality has declined then the customer is hit with a double whammy. I would rather pay an extra amount to retain the previous excellent food quality and I feel that prices should have reflected this already. From a strong 9 before to an average 5 now and if a brand is struggling why then make it even less appealing to use them. Think hard cote as you could driving folk away"

Took my partner for a Birthday meal and it was faultless. George made us feel very welcome from the minute we arrived and gave us a celebratory drink. Food and service was amazing. Thank you, we will be back.

Nice welcome and good to be able to take advantage of the fixed price menu offer of 2 courses for £16.95. Nice choice of dishes, served promptly by friendly staff. Nice ambience and a view of the cathedral too, shame about the rain!

This is a chain. I can’t speak for other venues, but Côte Cathedral Yard Exeter has provided consistently good or better food and service for at least the last couple of years. We have eaten there three or four times a year, usually for lunch....

An excellent restaurant to dine out in. The staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive. Delicious food, fairly reasonable priced. Card only though, plus added 10% servide charge to the bill without saying. Only 2 of us dining. On the whole a great place.
