The coffee is generous, and the toast comes with delightful options. The atmosphere is lovely, and you can tell a lot of care and attention has gone into the place. It's also a charming shop for toys and souvenirs. A real gem in Tenby!

"Well first of all arriving to the hotel it looks like an average house with a lots of car park, apart from the sign on the side of the road that says Heywood Spa nothing special for a 4.6 star hotel. The stuff is absolutely amazing, feels like a family run “posh wannabe” hotel. We had the executive room (210), the double bed had 2 single mattress, ripped wallpapers, a really noisy old school A/C and a little TV like a monitor in the middle, shower has a really really poor water pressure, you have to be straight under it, the walls are very thin you can hear people sneezing 4 rooms next to you and hear people checking in the reception even though it’s pretty far away. The balcony had 2 metal chairs without pillows and a tiny table. The spa is another downside of the hotel as the sauna not working 5 years ago as seeing now the reviews, still not working, the hot tub has loads of chemicals in it it’s literally making a bubble bath into the pool after 10 minutes. Pool is very cold and pretty small as well as the hot tub. Once you finished you have to walk through the restaurant unless you’d like to use the changing room what is literally just a room with a lightbulb and chair, no heating or anything obviously.Restaurant and the bar looks nice but a Vodka/Coke ended up £8 and a Corona lager £5.50. The breakfast is pretty good if it’s included the £200 a night price but I definitely wouldn’t pay for it separately as you have many options in Tenby. The lunch is looking good but way over seasoned to make it look nice and it’s really not worth £25. Pasta one side of the plate was taste like English mustard and nothing else. The tip is 10% what is fair but I’d personally pay double tip for the service and half price for the food. You have many Italian restaurants for half a price with awesome food on the beach. This hotel is definitely not 4.6 star, maybe 3 because of the little Spa but way overpriced and overrated.I’m not being picky, but for £200 a night in one of Tenby’s most expensive 4.6 star Hotel people have expectations."

"Nobody welcomed us. The only empty table seated five people. I checked with a member of staff that it was the only table, and she said yes so we sat down. She was adept at avoiding eye contact but eventually I managed to ask her if we should order at the counter and she said no, she would come to us. To be fair, that information was printed on the menu but the staff in most cafes can manage a cheery 'hello, take a seat, I 'll be with you in a minute ' or suchlike. When she did arrive, we told her we would be happy to share the table, but she didn 't respond, and we had it to ourselves the whole time even though the place was busy. Nice for us but seems a bit unfair on others. We ordered coffee, kombucha, a veggie breakfast (there is only a vegan breakfast on the menu but we asked to swap the avocado for a fried egg and use ordinary butter on the toast, which they were happy to do), and I asked for scrambled egg, avocado, mushrooms and hash brown which were all available as separate breakfast items. They asked if I wanted the avocado sliced or smashed, and I opted for sliced. My kombucha arrived in a sealed can with a separate glass. I poured it, took a sip and realised the glass was smeared with lipstick, which I do not wear myself. When I pointed this out they brought me a fresh one. At least mine didn 't explode like another poor diner 's did, with a bang that made us all jump and sprayed the drink all over her glasses, face, hair, and the window next to her. My companion 's breakfast arrived quite a long time before mine, so much so that I told him to start so it wouldn 't get cold. When mine arrived it was all on top of toast which I had not ordered and did not want as I am gluten intolerant just as well I 'm not coeliac. They took it back and removed the toast quite quickly. The scrambled egg was a generous portion, but very hard and solid, so not particularly nice to eat. About two thirds of the avocado was fine, not perfectly ripe but definitely edible. The other one third was browning and fibrous so I left that on the plate. My companion said his breakfast was good, and he ate it all. When we went to the counter to pay, again we were kept waiting for quite a long time with no word from the staff member present a quick 'I 'm sorry to keep you, I won 't be long ' or something would have gone a long way. I would not be enthusiastic about eating here again."
