"We visited Cramptons late on a Saturday about 3.00pm and were lucky as the kitchen closes at 3.15pm. We ordered the large salsa nachos to share. When they came up the plate was huge with nachos covered in melted cheese, salsa, jalapeno peppers and separate pots of guacemole and sour cream. They were delicious and more than enough for two. I am disabled and in a wheelchair and they have a big disabled toilet which is spotlessly clean but has no lock so if people who can't be bothered to use the ordinary toilets need to go they can just walk in! Luckily this did not happen to me. I presume it is for safety reasons in case someone gets stuck in there. We read the menu while waiting for our food and they really have a lovely selection which is very reasonably priced. The other customers were really helpful holding the doors open so my husband could get me out in the wheelchair as the door opening is quite narrow. Altogether a great place and we will be back."

Amazing price, for the amount of food you get! Portion sizes are big and value for money is excellent. Presentation is lovey and has a nice out door area.

Our first visit to a pub after the lockdown couldn't have been better. The staff, especially Luke, were all so friendly and accommodating. We were surprised to learn that Luke had just started that day, but he made us feel right at home. The food was delicious and the drinks were even better. Ver carta

Upon the reopening of many bars and pubs across Britain I thought it would be nice to catch up with some old school friends and have a drink at Cramptons Bar. Oh boy was I wrong. The owner is a self centred arrogant person with no people skills. He waters down his beers and I think he may spit in food 90% sure he does

When the food finally arrived, I took a bite and immediately spat it out. The burger was tough and overcooked, with an overwhelming amount of sage. It was truly disgusting. The chili con carne was okay, but the rice was soggy. It's a shame because the restaurant has potential with a good chef. I felt like I was in a Gordon Ramsay moment. Ver carta

I have been to Cramptons twice this month with friends celebrating my masters . I can say they have been absolutely brilliant observing the complex restrictions and keeping everyone safe . I work as a clinician and spend my day in ppe trying to protect others and myself , so was important to me then when I go out I felt safe . Despite the added pressure of restrictions staff have remained attentive, considerate and polite . Well done Cramptons

After not visiting this restaurant for a couple of years, we were pleased to see that the standards have not slipped. During our lunch visit, all necessary Covid restrictions were in place, including table service only. Despite the restaurant being fairly busy, we were attended to promptly and our drinks were brought to our table quickly. The two-course meal option is now priced at £6, up from the previous £5, but still represents excellent value. We ordered a burger and chips (£5.95) and a prawn marie rose jacket potato (£5.45), both of which came with a side salad. The hardworking and pleasant staff deserve commendation for their efforts. Well done!

"Having been raised at the knees of Caribbean and African women, sometimes I’m just in need of some soul food. I’ve often gone past Mullins and seen that it is busy, and looks bright, clean, warm and friendly. And it is. The decor works really well. Low-key, warm and welcoming. Music is a soothing stream of lilting Caribbean classics. The waiting staff are lovely. So friendly. And the menu looks great. There isn’t too much of it, and it is quite hard to choose because it all sounds amazing. Price points are really good. But. The food is genuinely terrible. I went for a Creole fish stew. I don’t know how you can make a stew without flavour. When you are cooking things slowly and together, flavour infuses flavour. But not here. This was a good sized portion of piping hot well presented food. But my God it tasted awful. Basically chopped potato surrounded by small lumps of bland unidentifiable white fish, half a dozen mussels, some of which were still closed, and therefore inedible, and three flavourless prawns in shells. There was a pinch of Samphire on the top, and this was the sum total of the vegetables I could find. It came in what I can only describe as a thick red sauce. If there was tomato in it, there was no flavour to it. It was highly salty, and this was the dominant flavour throughout. The fish had no flavour of fish, and it was intensely spiced in a lip plumping way. Essentially, it was all heat and salt. With a slight tang of gents toilets. I suspect this was from the mussels. I did raise the blandness twice with the waiter, and the strange unpleasant toilet flavour. He said he would tell chef. And that was that. No feedback on the dreadful flavour other than that it was all fresh. I ate the entirety of the meal because I had travelled a long way and had not eaten. I saw it simply as fuel. It was not enjoyable. I paid and left. Mullins is so close to getting everything right, but a restaurant is its food. I’m not going back."
