Brilliant Sausage Rolls and friendly staff! Definitely recommend the chorizo pork roll, great to takeaway to the beach.

Enjoyed a very tasted pork and caramelised onion sausage roll. It had a lovely rich flavour, although the pastry could have more of a bite to it.

Took forever to make the food, seemed completely disinterested in what they were doing and I discovered after I left that they'd forgot half the ingredients to what I ordered Ver carta

Delivery rider was so late. The shop was good enough to call me and tell me my food was ready long time ago. No sign of the rider. Eventually turned up 30 mins later than agreed time. Not happy

Wonderful, flavourful pastries and sandwiches, without being ridiculously expensive; try the pork and ghost chilli sausage roll if you can, it's really something special. My only complaint would lack of indoor seating.

This is a little gem in the Lanes in Brighton! The food is lovely, my oldest daughter says their traditional sausage rolls are the best she has ever tasted. I stopped in there with my youngest on Saturday who had a steak pasty and I had a vegan roll, the food was excellent. The experience was enhanced by the service and the man who served us (I think his name was Matt) was friendly and took the time to advise us even though it was very busy. Massive disappointment.. looked awesome in the window and when It eventually arrived. Took 15 mins to receive order (maybe making new sauce 2 pieces of the thinnest ham bacon on a slab of soughdough. Absolutely no taste throughout. if I closed my eyes I would have had no idea what I was eating. Top slice of bread toasted on both sides, then cheap bacon on the smallest spread of white sauce (or was it mayonnaise? to dampen the bottom slice. Broke it apart and ate top slice only.. I've no idea what ir was missing.. buy it was missing a LOT Hated it tbh.. and I wanted to love it

I used to love Croque Shop when I first moved here in 2015. They had excellent pastries and sandwiches. Notice my use of past tense, because those days are sadly gone. The food quality has really taken a nosedive. I grabbed a 'feta and spinach slice ' when I was in the area earlier and it was actually pretty gross. The texture on the inside was slimy and the pastry bit on the outside didn 't have the pleasant flakey texture most people would want. It was so unappetizing I threw half of it away. I 'm sure they get a lot of foot traffic, but man this place is a shell of its former self. There 's clearly not any love going into the food since the old owner left. Bought a cheese and ham slice and traditional beef pastie. I was asked if I would like my slice warming up and said not if it was going to be soggy with grease. Same conversation for the pastie. The slice was heated to such an extent that it had to be double wrapped so as it could be safely handled. Unfortunately the slice was soaked in fat, floppy and looked more like a piece of bread soaked in fat. Absolutely repulsive. The shop assistant said I was being aggressive when I complained about it, which I wasn't and initially refused to do anything. Eventually I got a refund. The pastie was only marginally better. The table outside was filthy, we wiped it outself with handwipes. All in all, as... Ver carta
