A down-to-earth, value for money café (without the smell of cooking). Decent tea, sandwiches. Reasonable toastie on white bread.

Lunch was great, home made vegetable soup and proper sandwiches. The food was good wholesome and filling, everything was served exactly as it should be, quickly and fresh. Thank you.

We go every week for milky coffee and a toastie, wouldn't go anywhere else! My family have been going here for years, not much has changed but you know what your getting! Friendly staff and good food

added to their menu since i last visited a lot more choice, fresh homemade soup is the best i've tasted friend said it was better than her nanna's coffee and real cadburys hot choclate Staff and Atmosphere in a word SUPERB

I visited this restaurant last Friday for lunch before going to visit my dad in the hospital. Having been here before, I knew what to expect and I was not disappointed. The fish and chips with mushy peas were great, and the tea, bread, and butter were also very good. The price was reasonable for the quality of the food. Ver carta

This cozy café in Whitehaven offers a touch of local history along with a delicious pot of tea and toast. It has a classic coffee house vibe, adorned with paintings by the owner's longtime friend Paul Schofield. The owner and Paul have a deep connection, which made for a delightful conversation during my visit. It's a perfect spot to relax and pass the time.

Been going in here on and off for years it was always good now its even better they are moving with the times and have loads of choice now, I used to always get a cheese and onion toastie which was lovley, this time i tried a smoked cheese and ham pannini and it was excellent, i dont have to say about there Milky coffee i had there famous for it, waitress was telling me they will be adding Jacket potatoes to there menu soon Personally i cant wait

I have previously raved about how great this 'Laal café is, but now it has improved even more. In addition to a better and more creative menu, customers can now pay by card (contactless/chip and pin) and enjoy free wifi. This traditional cafe, located just a short distance from the main road, offers toilet facilities exclusively for customers and serves a wide variety of teas, coffees, sandwiches, cakes, soups, toasties, and salads. The atmosphere is lively with engaging conversation and interesting patrons. Definitely worth a visit. Ver carta
