"Fabulous place to visit. We were staying in our Motorhome which they accommodate with or without electric hookup. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Saved the best to last the Food. We had the ribeye and the lamb duo of lamb both were stunning. The steak was done to perfection and the lamb was tender, the flavour was delicious. We will definitely be stopping by if we are back down this way."

"King Charles Coronation Weekend .... The Strands and the Screes are Classic Lakeland inns, set in the Spectacular Wasdale Valley, in the pretty little Hamlet of Nether Wasdale... They're only a Short walk from the Stunning Scenery of Wastwater and its Famous Screes, there is a Beautiful Woodland walk to the Lake shore... The Strands serves Delicious Food... I recommend the Steak Strands ale pie, The inn ,Produces it's own Fabulous Beers, in the Micro Brewery... Many Different Beers are made.... I would Highly Recommend Making Dinner Reservation, as they get Extremely Busy at peak periods.... Bank Holidays, etc this will avoid being Disappointed... Mark Lesley, and there Team, work very hard and are very welcoming helpful... this is our 2nd stay, a short one regrettably its a Stunningly Beautiful place, with Jaw Dropping Scenery, which Deserve more than a few nights... Wonderful Atmosphere in the inn, Some Great Locals and always something Great going on Quiz Night While we were thereon Sundaynight... and Speaking of which... There is a Beer Festival next week... "This is a fantastic pub restaurant and hotel, firstly the staff and owners are fantastic great service always with a smile on thier faces, the pub is just so welcoming it's like sitting in your living room with friends,it's the most dog friendly place I've ever been to our Rosie loves it we just let her off her lead she just flops in front of the log fire and has a sleep then she goes and says hello to all the other people and dogs in there its brilliant, then their is the food which is simply outstanding every meal I've had and it's quite a few has been restaurant quality my highlight is the steak and ale pie all I can say is wow desserts are also fantastic and they cater very well for gluten free which is a godsend for my fiance, breakfast is very good plenty of fruit cereals juice tea coffee and a fantastic full English although their are also plent of other things to have on the menu you even get a sausage for your dog,the rooms are clean tidy could do with a bit of an update but the beds are comfortable and they are warm the hotel caters for walkers and they don't mind if you come in the pub with muddy boots, their is also a drying room and electric charge point and ample carparking, I cannot recommend the Bower house enough and can't wait for our next visit 11/10 Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 5"

"We visited as part of the Brit Stops program. The parking lot across the street isn't entirely flat, but we managed to find a decent spot and had a pleasant night. The food at the hotel was excellent—I particularly enjoyed my steak pie with fresh vegetables. Although the drinks were pricey, which increased our bill, I understand that prices have to cover costs these days. The hotel itself looked fantastic, and the location is ideal. The Wi-Fi was also good. Overall, the highlights of the hotel include its quiet atmosphere."

"We made a reservation for 4 adults and 2 dogs for the evening, as we had confirmed that they were allowed. We were initially seated outside while our table was being prepared. The waitress promptly took our drink and starter orders, and they arrived quickly and were delicious. However, after that, things took a turn for the worse. We waited for an hour before someone finally cleared our table and brought out our main dishes. We had to inquire about the delay, as other guests who arrived after us were already ordering and receiving their meals. While I don't mind waiting a reasonable amount of time, it felt like we were being ignored or forgotten. The staff were quick to bring the bill and request payment. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and had the potential to be much better."
