On arrival had to ask bar staff 3 times where the restaurant was. Waiter gave us the set lunch menu at 7pm had to ask for larger evening menu. My wife's pasta dish was cold. Wine selection could have been broader. Dark no ambience

This was a lovely find, a calm oasis in the madness that is the Edinburgh festival. The food was excellent and the service polite, efficient and accommodating. Dietary requirements were met without a moment's thought. It's not cheap, but worth it to get away from the hubbub

Great decor and professional service. Very small portions served on early dining menu. Lots of scurrying about but still waiting for server quite often. Bill was hilariously wrong but we worked out an amount that was fair and didn’t worry about the exact items ordered. Pleasantly surprised by this hotel dining experience but would expect double the amount of food on starter and main for price paid. Ver carta

Exceedingly unprofessional service, slow and unattentive, unstructured and uncoordinated. One eaiter blaming the other. We were promised such poor service would never happen again. But this was not a question of a one off. Only about 12 guests for two waiters, so not busy. Just lack of capability. Two guests left immediately when tealising the slownss, two others left after the first course. This is not sustainable. Good food by the way!!

The very best thing about this visit was the service it was excellent. The menu was a bit limited in scope and the dishes were flavoursome but overall a bit disappointing: there id not seem to be much there on the plate. The bill did not tell me that this was good value for money in my opinion, slightly overpriced especially the wine: £8 for a glass of wine is a bit steep but then I did choose that. Ambiance was good because the restaurant was quite quiet and we had a lot to talk about. However, no attention was given to my request for a quieter table. May well go back but not for a while.

Do not be fooled into thinking that this is an Italian restaurant, when the head waitress could not find our booking she informed us that they dont check open table bookings any more, they did find the booking and set a table for us anyway, then we chose food from the set menu 2 courses for £16.95 each, when the bill came they had charged from the main menu, we had already paid the bill when this was discovered, we pointed out that we had chosen from the set menu they then set about trying to rectify there mistake, after fifteen minutes they finallt gave up say that accounts would fix this later and refund the difference to the card, guest relations manager then informed us we would be invit...
