"You'll likely need a GPS to find this cozy little gem, situated on a blind corner of the street on the mountainside behind the seacoast town of Belmonte Calabro. I can't even promise it will be open, and Italian is the only language spoken. I don't speak Italian, but I was invited to sit wherever I liked and and a large open bottle of white wine and a bottle of water were placed on my table. No menu was offered, apparantly the plate of the day being the only choice. First came a small plate of crusty bread pieces covered with anchovies in light oil as an appetizer. The combination was delightful and the taste not overpowering. The main dish was a freshly grilled fish, probably weighing about two pounds, and absolutely pure and delicious; perfectly cooked. A plate of crushed olives and fresh bread accompanied, and a nice coffee finished this perfect meal. The final delight was in the low price I was asked to pay for this great meal. Their business card says open every day, and the phone number is 0982 47097 47054. I suggest you check first before making the drive."

This place is amazing!!! I've been there with my girlfriend couple of weeks ago and the only adjectiv that comes up in my mind to describe this little, cozy restaurant is AMAZING! when in summer, with the family, I go to lunch for years, I am sure to meet a few hours of pure serenity. The welcome of Christian and valentine and the smile of Franciscan, under the guidance of father gianni, make the guest feel at ease. the kitchen transforms in a correct and without unnecessary frills the excellent raw material, from appetizers to the legendary lemon sorbet with a particular mention for fries that are always dry and crisp. the service is very attentive and the account really honest. Good guys, keep it up, teresa mom is certainly proud of you.

While on a trip to our home town of Belmonte Calabria, my father, aunt and I were fortunate enough to get in contact with a cousin of ours Mario Guglielmo. Mario made sure we experienced the best that Belmonte had to offer and one of those places was Da Gianni. The restaurants atmosphere was extremely cozy and when the food came out, everything looked and smelled fantastic and tasted even better. We ordered a little bit of everything and after eating, we were very happy with the food and service. I would definitely recommend Da Gianni to anyone visiting Belmonte, you must try this restaurant.
