"This place has a great reputation but this can only be because there isn't much competition for quality Italian in Berlin. If it were in any other other major city in the world it would rate a solid 3- Maximum! There were a number of low points, the service being the lowest. Super slow, rude bordering on aggressive and completely chaotic. The food was ok in places. Great Carpaccio and Caponata and a half decent spinach salad.. Hardly complex or rarified dishes and certainly not worth enduring the general awfulness and totally unjustified prices for though.The awful rest was a mix of totally average to bad. All of it horribly over salted, greasy and much of it overcooked. There was a stuffed squid I would still be chewing now if I, and my other dinner guests hadn't chosen to spit it into the napkin instead of persevering. Even the so called 'Buffalo' mozzarella was harder than a cricket ball but had less flavour- other than salt of course. The final hideous garnish was a long black hair in at least half of the dishes?? Ok, one long black hair, fair enough.. but I think we counted 4 over the course of the evening. All this would have been just another overpriced, disappointing meal in an average restaurant if our waitress hadn't decided to take it to the next level....By 1.30am, having endured another endless, random hiatus in the procession of greasy, over salted dishes I had the nerve to ask if there was a pudding to come- hoping the answer would be no of course. This was the only moment during the whole ordeal the waitress actually engaged and suddenly became incredibly animated.'Is there a problem' she asked, visibly bristling.. Yes, I said. It's 1.30 am and everyone is tired and would like to go go home. If there is a pudding could you nudge it along please. After this all hell broke lose. Sufficient to say it ended with the waitress virtually chasing me out of the restaurant, shouting at me in the street as I clambered panic stricken into a taxi. I'm no stranger to bad, arrogant service, but this? WOW! It sounds funnier than it was btw. This is the kind of bizarre behaviour, average food and overpricing that are really a symptom of a dysfunctional and cynical management and a total lack of respect for the customer.I am really at a loss to understand why this place has any reputation, other than a bad one. It is deeply average and massively overpriced. It's not in the least bit charming as some reviewers have suggested and as for the positive food reviews?? I just can't see how anyone could rave about it. There are loads of decent restaurants in Berlin. I would seriously avoid this one- truly awful bordering on the gross."

Spiste sen middag med venner. Bord var bestilt uker i forveien. Maten var ypperlig, med oppmerksom og kyndig servitør. At lokalet var trangt og svært støyfullt trekker ned.

Le cadre est sympathique, le service agréable et rapide. Les plats sont bons. En revanche, le prix des boissons et notamment du vin est exorbitant. Quasi aucune bouteille en dessous de 40€.

A lovely atmosphere in this lively Italian eatery. The menu is on a chalk board and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. Friendly service too, with the Italian staff speaking good English as well as German.

Cooler Laden, netter schneller Service. Die Portionen sind nicht sehr gross aber man wird satt. Auch als hungriger Mann :) Die Bedienung ist aufmerksam und schnell und im Restaurant herscht eine tolle Wärme Atmosphäre. Kann ich nur wärmsten empfehlen

This gem was recommended to us by friends and we were not disappointed! No printed menus, instead "Today's Specialties" are put on on a blackboard. Neat! Engaged, friendly and very good service staff. The food is made with care and tastes excellent. We will definitely visit again! Ver carta

Locale molto intimo con luci soffuse con possibilità di mangiare anche all'aperto, tempo permettendo.Sicuramante il pezzo forte di questo locale sono i vini, ottimi ma, con costi elevati. Si vuol bere dell'ottimo vino italiano? Allora si paga !! soprattutto se si è all'estero.Cibo discreto , buone le materie prime ma un po' misere le porzioni. Buonissimo il pane fatto in casa.Conto superiore alla media soprattutto se sceglie del buon vino per accompagnare le pietanze, se si vuol risparmiare vi consiglio il McDonald.

Das Stue recommended this place in Kreuzberg which is about 25 minutes from the hotel in Tiergarten. The area is a bit rough around the edges but in an East Village way before gentrification. We don't speak German or a Italian but the staff greeting us warmly in English. The menu is on a chalkboard which the waiter meticulously and patiently translated. The Sicilian eggplant salad was fantastic as was the tagliatelle pasta dish.
