Derby Arms Rainford

Had a delicious meal last night. Food was very tasty and very good value for money. Staff very friendly. Can only recommend and will definitely go back.

I had another fantastic lunch at The Derby Arms in Rainford. The food, staff, and ambience were all excellent. If you haven't been to this restaurant yet, you are definitely missing out.

This was my second visit to the restaurant for a casual afternoon drink, but it will likely be my last. The constant use of foul language by other customers in the bar was off-putting. It was surprising to see that the staff didn't seem bothered by it, as one of them even joined in during their break.

Casual dining with excellent home made food and excellent service. Only discovered this place recently and now visit several times a month. Always busy advisable to book. Staff very friendly and efficient. The food is good traditional English pub grub cooked with first class ingredients. Excellent value for money especially there set lunch. Would highly recommend.

What a quaint traditional pub. Pleasantly surprised by the lovely interior. Really clean comfortable throughout. Warm welcome from the staff. Every one of our 13 group was extremely happy with all our individual meals. The food was served altogether and was served hot even though they were very busy. Very affordable food and drink too. I went to this restaurant with my family to celebrate my Mum's birthday with a Sunday lunch. The service was outstanding, with attentive and friendly waitresses. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. We all enjoyed three courses, although my husband and I found the beef to be overcooked - we would have preferred it to be pink. Other than that, everything was really good. The restaurant has a nice traditional pub atmosphere and serves great food.

Called in on the off chance on a Saturday afternoon and the place was heaving. The lunch menu is very reasonable and there was plenty of choice. We were served promptly by friendly staff and found a place for 4 even though we hadn't booked. I found the fish gougons a bit greasy, could have done with placing on absorbent paper before serving but tasted fine. I am most happy that I have finally found a place that realises that not every non drinker wants to drink diet or full fat coke. I prefer lemonade and am much happier with diet lemonade never found that in a pub before today so well done this landlord.

While visiting family I went for lunch with my Mum and Sister. We normally go to The Star Inn in Rainford but we arrived to find that they don’t do food on a Tuesday so the barman recommended trying The Derby (a pub none of us had been in). On walking into the Derby the first thing you notice is the delicious smell of food and the faces of smiling, friendly staff. The two main rooms were busy but still plenty of tables to choose from in the bar area. We were given our menus and the drinks order was taken almost immediately after sitting down.
