"Look, let me say at the outset that I hate criticising local businesses and we try to support them but this was really poor. We went for breakfast. We placed our order and waited at least 40 minutes for it to arrive. My wife’s breakfast was shocking. The bacon was burned, the mushrooms were burned and the black pudding was also burned. Her egg was swimming in horrible, almost black grease. The sausages were missing. I had the ‘big one’ and it wasn’t too bad. My wife sent her breakfast back. In fairness they weren’t going to charge us but as I’d eaten a bit of mine I paid for a ‘small breakfast’. The staff were really apologetic and I felt for them but it was a really disappointing experience."

"Food itself was mostly pretty good, mussels were excellent. Although the staff were decent people and the younger members were really nice, the team lacked a general cohesive hospitality and awareness. Awful **** flavour of Jazz, which felt forced and out of step, and then silence for ages, try some Chet Baker or something a bit mellower over dinner perhaps... place was empty on a Friday night...Shame as its a great spot. Service: 3"

"Went here for a Birthday meal,it was very enjoyable from start to finish,the food was delicious all cooked to perfection in the authentic Italian style.The menu had a lot to choose from with a very wide variety of lovely dishes.All the staff we’re very nice and made you all feel welcome.With a nice friendly relaxed atmosphere,it was very busy as it has become a very popular restaurant in the town of Calne in Wiltshire.will definitely go back to sample some more of this lovey Italian food.I can highly recommend this restaurant,booking is essential..... We visited here again for another Birthday meal on the 07/06/24 again it was first class Italian food with excellent service delivered by the lovely staff...."

"I took my father-in-law for lunch at The Talbot. Since the chef had left, they have decided to start serving Sunday lunches again. Currently, the food is being prepared by the staff and I must say, the starters of pate and garlic mushrooms were delicious. For the main course, I had the chicken and my father-in-law had the pork. We were both impressed when our meals arrived, even before the vegetables were served. The vegetables came in hot dishes with individual jugs of gravy, and we couldn't find any faults. We asked for an extra jug of gravy and it was no trouble at all. Throughout the entire meal, we were both complimenting how good it was and how it reminded us of a proper Sunday lunch at home. The only downside was that we couldn't curl up on the sofa afterwards with full stomachs. Even my father-in-law said it was the best Sunday dinner he's had in a long time, surpassing his previous experience at The Talbot. This time, he couldn't praise it enough. Well done to the chef and the team for a fantastic Sunday dinner."

"Last week, we decided to stop by this restaurant. We opted for a small glass of wine, a beer, and a bowl of chips. However, we were informed that there would be a half-hour wait just for the chips. The drinks were served in dirty glasses, and we were seated at a table that appeared to have not been cleaned in years. To make matters worse, we were charged £16.00 for the chips, wine, and beer. The chips were microwaved and unappetizing, and the mayo looked unappetizing. It's disappointing that this establishment does not offer fresh, clean food or a pleasant atmosphere. The landlord would be better off returning to his previous job. I strongly recommend avoiding this place and instead visiting the Divine Cafe in Calne."
