"We went here for Mother's Day brunch, there were four of us. We booked in advance which was very easy to do online. There was plenty on the menu, I was really pleased to see a lot of Vegetarian options, I would love to try the pancakes in the future. We ordered 2 vegetarian breakfast and 2 full English breakfast. We all changed a little bit (no baked beans and swapped it for a potato rosti for example) and this was no problem at all. The waiter read it back to us which was great and a good job as a couple of out orders got mixed up so we appreciated him reading it back to us. The food took around 30-35 minutes to get to us when we first sat down which wasn't too bad as at least it was all done fresh and it arrived hot. Food was nice, everyone enjoyed their meals. We heard the person doing live music (I assume for the 3 course meal for people later) and they sounded really good. It would have been nice to have more of the building opened up as we were in one section with 3 other full tables so it felt a bit squashy. One of the drinks arrived which were wrong, we asked for coke no ice but got given diet coke with ice however this was quickly fixed. The toilets were really nice and clean, with some beautiful smelling flowers in there. Think a bit of paint works needs to happen inside especially one section where we were sat however it's a lovely building inside and out. Would visit again!"

I've visited this restaurant several times, and I absolutely love it! The food is consistently excellent, and the staff is really friendly and helpful. Jacob, in particular, goes above and beyond to ensure a great experience.

Very nice staff lovely place to eat we had a walk round the town then called in for lunch dont be put off by having to go in at a side entrance it must work better as you enter in to a large bar area and the the staff seat you food very nice

Food was excellent, lots of choice on the menu including things you wouldn't normally see. Service was impeccable, we were served by Kim and Finn. Both were warm, friendly and very helpful. Both are a credit to the team. Highly recommend visiting. Ver carta

I had a fantastic stay! The food was delicious, and the service was friendly. The room was amazing and full of character, with the added bonus of a small refrigerator. I would definitely visit again, hopefully for a longer stay next time. It's a great place with good internet access.

This is a spacious pub with a friendly atmosphere. Our waitress, Ele Grace, was very attentive, and the food was excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone considering a visit. We also appreciated the complimentary glass of prosecco to celebrate our jubilee; it was a lovely touch.

We have eaten here for Lunch over the past two days, the food and service is excellent here. It has changed management since Covid and the service has improved even more from a great place to eat. We went on Sunday for a family meal (7 of us) we were put in a lovely little room. It seemed slightly cold at first but did warm up. The menu was lovely and we were informed of items not Available straight away. The roast was lovely, large portions meant I couldn't finish. The pudding was also lovely and no complaints from our table. This was 2pm on a Sunday so near to the end of serving. Would come again!

Stayed here for 1 night for family celebration. WOW! Steeped in history, it's a typical British pub, with accommodation. Lots of stairs to rooms, but well worth it. Service staff were exceptional, as was the food offered. There were over 20 in our party, but food arrived quickly, was hot, as well as orders being correct. 5 stars well deserved, but if you have mobility issues, check ahead. Thanks to all staff there upon our visit, you made a special day for us all just that bit extra special.
