We were rather surprised about this restaurant. Classical interior of 19th century. Nice place, will back when in Cologne. Good food and attentive service.

It is a small restaurant, with nice ambience. You are surrounded by books by Dostoevsky! Food was very delicious, perfectly cooked and very creatively presented. Service was fast. Highly recommended.

We called in here while passing through and boy am I happy we did. English menu so easy to choose food was cooked to perfection and very very tasty well seasoned and presented Nicely absolutely no complaints can recommend this restaurant. Service was good beer arrived in a timely manor food took a little longer but we could see in the kitchen everything freshly made for us. And at the end of the night I was pleasantly surprised how cheap the bill was. Will we come again yes for sure if we happen to be here sometime

We had a very nice experience at Dostoevsky. Chose the place based on other TripAdvisor reviews and very glad we did. It is just outside the city center, so a bit off the usual tourist path but an easy taxi ride. Small, intimate setting. The only person we saw was the proprietor, who was serving as host, bartender and waiter. He was friendly and very helpful with the menu. (We managed just fine with our collective limited English and German.) The food was outstanding, and quite reasonably priced -- I am not surprised to see the positive reviews from native Russians on this site. Would gladly recommend and definitely go back if we find ourselves in Cologne again.

We took a visitor from London who equally loves Russian food and this made for a great start to a night of uni nostalgia as we were transported to a wonderful St Petersburg-esque atmosphere. There is no where quite like it for me in Cologne.They really have paid close attention to detail. The decor reminds us of the restaurant's namesake's study and the menu has a good range of Russian classics, hearty meat dishes or simple fare as well as some vegetarian options. Different budgets are also reflected so you can make this as special or as economical as desired which is great.We tried the starters for two or three people with Beluga vodka (but they also have two levels of Russian Standard) the...
