Dukeries Lodge - Carta

The service was excellent, we were warmly welcomed and the atmosphere was lovely. There was a wide variety of food options to cater to all dietary preferences. The steaks were cooked perfectly.

Been here a few times, mainly for lunch. Menu is basic and unimaginative, specials limited, place is tired and needs modernising.. service varies inconsistent Food quality is basic but generally freshly cooked heated and served hot..

The cleanliness of the restaurant was terrible, it was dirty throughout which made me feel disgusted even before my food arrived. Unfortunately, the food was not good either. The chicken had a strange taste and I couldn't even finish the entire meal. Ver carta

We held my mums wake at the Dukeries. Have to say that John and the staff were great. Plenty of food in the well priced buffet. Everything ran very smoothly. Only problem was lack of cups and hot water for tea and coffee but was rectified quickly.Thanks for making a difficult day easier.

We found the food here amazing...my partner and i both had a mixed grill and it was cooked to perfection...all the meat was lovely...the welcome was pleasant...yes i would agree the decor needs updating...but you can forgive small things surely when the welcome, the service and the food are all lovely....we thoroughly enjoyed our meal....

Room was clean if a little dated.The food in the bar was great value and well prepared. The staff were helpful and sorted the allergy lists very quickly.Only minor niggle, the plumbing for the surrounding rooms appears to run through our room so it can get a little noisy if the other occupants get a shower early on.Other than that a great little hotel.Will be back. Arriving at The Dukeries, there is ample free car parking. From the outside it appears reasonably well maintained but inside it is tired and shabby, over due a refurbishment, with torn seating and peeling paint in the bars.Whilst it was busy, attracting families, dog friendly and parties going on and quick, friendly service, there wasn’t a ‘Quiet’ space to sit without noise.Staff are friendly, although eating food behind the bar was not something I’d expect or the sight of staff seemingly leaning up against bar furniture, when the place could do with a good clean.

Firstly the website boasts Sky Sports and the sign outside confirms this. However, they no longer have Sky Sports so surely their signage should be amended.(Trade descriptions?)Went for Sunday lunch.The traditional Sunday roast choices were only turkey or half a chicken. Why no beef, pork or lamb? Pie not available, etc., etc.We were a large party but the meals came out very sporadically so there was no chance of eating together. Some people had finished eating before the last meals arrived. I had the half roast chicken with cremated Yorkshire puddings. I have been to this restaurant for the second time in a couple of months and hesitated to write a review after my first visit, hoping it was just a one-time bad experience. We had our work Christmas lunch here and although it was a budget-friendly meal, it was not satisfactory. The starters were all pleasant and the pie I had was delicious, I would recommend it. However, the cranberry sauce on the pate should have been served on the side as some people do not enjoy it, preventing my colleague from enjoying the starter.
