"This restaurant was decorated beautifully. The staff were excellent. I ordered the battered fish, chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce. However although the fish looked good and the batter was excellent the fish just tasted of nothing. I know my fish and would have got more taste from a Birdseye fishfinger. My friend enjoyed her fish cakes but I was really disappointed. I didn’t complain because if that’s the fish they use another piece would have tasted the same. Pity as I would loved to have enjoyed it.."

We came here last year and didn't really enjoy the food but love the pub as it's beautiful inside and out. Went back yesterday and the food was unreal! Service great too.

Lovely, local friendly pub/restaurant. Food is always served hot and to a high standard. Menu is varied with something to suit all tastes. Tables clean and staff attentive.

the staff was amazing, friendly helpful. eating was a little disappointing, especially camembert (no taste) chicken roast (dry) we went later on the day (6.15) but there was neither trio nor bark meat or verne brûlée.

this is a beautiful restaurant with very attentive staff and my two friends who have not had any diet requirements enjoyed their meal very much. as coeliac, who has only gluten-free eating, I was really disappointed that it is very little to offer at the same time. I chose the Brat chicken chips without sauces, but was very disappointed about how dry the chicken was and how bland tasted eating. I ended up with the cream bubbum, which was very inspiring again. Absolutely no complaint about the food or service to the table. However, not being tech savvy we were led to the table and told we could order via the QR code. When I said I didn't understand I was told simply photo the code and it was easy. It maybe easy for some but I simply went in ordered the food feeling a little inadequate!!! Didn't encourage me to order anything else or return. I appreciate this is the way forward but would help if the staff were a bit more helpful and obliging.

Lovely local pub restaurant. The menu was simple, small but varied and caters to many tastes. The location is scenic and we sat outside in a garden with tables well spaced apart. The food ordering was by app and problem free. Sensible but not over the top covid controls were in place. The food arrived in good time, was well presented, of high quality and was hot. Drinks were accurate and served quickly. The staff were friendly. and professional. Reasonably priced. It was also easy to park.

"My husband and I have been regular visitors to this restaurant over the years and never had anything to complain about, so when my husband booked for my Birthday with my family (6 adults and 2 children) we were all really looking forward to a lovely Sunday late lunch/early dinner. Our table was booked for 4.30 and we all arrived on time and were shown to our table straight away. We all ordered pre dinner drinks whilst choosing from the Sunday menu. All of our starters were lovely, including the prawn cocktail and the soup, however unfortunately we cannot say the same for the mains.....3 x beef, which of the two slices were fatty and rather tough, the roast potatoes were very very hard and tough and very difficult to cut through, the Yorkshire puddings were burnt and really quite inedible and the gravy, already on the plate, was very thin and watery. My husband had the lamb shoulder which was extremely dry. Vegetables were served to the table and consisted of carrots, parsnips and large slices of onion and swede mash, not a green vegetable in sight. We also had a bottle of wine which we continued to pour ourselves throughout our meal.......in the 'old days ' the wine was always poured for us! It was plain to see when we were 'finished ' eating our meals that there was so much left on our plates as not one of us enjoyed the dinner at all and it was all very dissapointing, hence we all turned down the offer of dessert, although my grandson ordered the kids brownie and ice cream which he enjoyed! Overall our visit was really really disappointing and sorry to say we left the restaurant all saying the same.....we will not be visiting again soon!"
