Eier-Carl - Carta

I'm travelling to Hamburg once a year and tested Labskaus now at various places. The one at EierCarl is simply the best :

Local Restaurant and bar with tasty regional food and beer. Speciality: different kinds of Egg liqueurs. Wounderful view to the fish market and to the harbor.

Food was good, service by the guy with the hat even better, eggnog amazing. We had around shots each and really enjoyed our evening. Not to expensive. Will go back. Ver carta

Very traditional bar restaurant in Hamburg Port. Great decor, relaxed but attentive service, good food and cornucopia of traditional fittings, fixtures and artefacts. Check out the divers helmet.

Ratsherrn beers sold on tap and in bottles. Also selling flavoured eggnog. We spent New Year’s Eve there and it was great. Decent food and good service. Strolled our at to the water and watched the fireworks.

Visited with my Wife and Daughter. The Labskaus was a new dish for me, and was really good. The herring was delicious. My wife and daughter had the currywurst, which was also a first for them. Spicy, but not overpowering. All fairly priced too. Ver carta

This corner restaurant is opposite the Fish Market and has great views of the harbour. It is the perfect spot to try the famous fish sandwich which is what I would call pickled herring. I am not good with raw food, but this was...delicious. My partner had two! Great service and prices are reasonable. Will definitely go back again!

Stay clear of this establishment. You would normally expect of a bar/restaurant to provide a pleasant service to paying customers, not rude, confrontational attitudes. Sadly for Eier Carl, you wont get pleasant service. So do them a favour and pass them by and go find...one of the many other options available steps away. One of the servers was not willing to provide a glass of tap water after our entire group had ordered drinks and ensued to argue that he wanted to charge for the tap-water? Not being a German speaker myself, I decided to go for the Alsterwasser, as pointed out in their English menu that this was their version of a Radler Upon delivery of the drinks from possibly the female o...

We were visiting Hamburg the first time and wanted to eat local in a typical German establishment. I have been a waitress for years during university, and would have never imagined someone would not be fired for the absolutely disgustingly rude customer service we...experienced at EierCarl. A younger man with blonde hair, and a brunette woman (around mid who obviously lack in any common manners were extremely rude to me and my peers. The man called us stupid multiple times when we asked about the meaning of Alsterwasser obviously entertained by himself by his shocking behaviour.
