En Bas D'la Rue - Carta

We came here for lunch - and were lucky it was on a sunny day, as sitting on the terrace made this visit the more memorable. Service was friendly and adequate. Food was very good too - not a gourmet feast, but a good realible standard. We can recommend this restaurant and ourselves would go back.

We had dinner there where I took the casoulet and my wife a 19 euro burger well done. It didn't look like a 19 euro burger and it was very well done or better extremely dry. The casoulet was good and i enjoyed it. Our waiter was nice but onw of the girls waiting on others lookes like she was ready to do harm to someone, not worth the 60 euro bill i am afraid

We were very happy with the terrace setting, the attentive service, the cold rose and the excellent duck salad. It was an needed escape from the mobs of tourists scrumming the street of what has become a frightful tourist trap. The staff was very kind and understanding. While we would return to En Bas D'la Rue in a heartbeat, I doubt we need see Rocamadour again. Ver carta

Our usual fave was Full so made for here as they had a decent menu du jour that suited us all. So so slow; we had to keep asking for our food which arrived over the course of two hours! Two hours for a plat Du jour! There was even a shouting skirmish inside during the course of our (endless) stay which we can only assume was someone fed up with waiting! Go elsewhere - we certainly won't be back!

So many nice restaurants and we picked the DUD. We ordered our meal and after 45 minutes a waitress came to us and asked what we ordered, no explanation. Watching other being served who came in long after us and we waited another half an hour asking what was happening only to be told it won’t be long. Another 20 mins and still no food We wasted all of this time and left in disgust. I have never given a terrible to over 350 reviews so this was a first. Find another they do not deserve your business.

Ate on the terrace on a warm evening. The waiters were attentive and helpful but even though they had a huge wall of wines on display we were told there was no wine menu and we could only choose red, white or Rose house wines!!! Very frustrating The Caesar and duck salads were both huge and generous portions but they arrived some 15 mins before the other meals to be eaten at the same time. The desserts were good and the cafe gourmand great value Tasty food and nice staff but just needs to be more organised and let the customers actually drink and buy their wines!!!! Ver carta

Went there for lunch and of course in high season you expect restaurants in a place like this to be busy, and it was. Ordered a menu at €19 starter, main and dessert, my son had the menu enfant at €9.50 and my husband chose a la carte the confit. His main course came a little after my son's main which was at the same time as my starter. The confit was very dry, however the steak haché and my faux fillet were actually tasty but very small portion. I had to tell the waitress to clear my starter plate so she could bring my main course, this was at the same time my son and husband had finished their meal. Greeted immediately, seated in front window, but the table and chairs were covered in flies, so we asked to sit across the room. Unfortunately, the whole place was covered in flies -- we should have walked out when they started landing on us. The waiter dropped off menus, then sat down a few tables away to eat lunch. We waited, and waited, and swatted flies, and should have walked out, but had the poor judgement of the very hungry, and stuck it out. 25 minutes (and two generations of flies) later, we got our drinks.The food was meh, service non-existent, and by the time we were done, we had trained the flies to perform in a tiny circus with a cast of thousands. Stopped here for lunch while visiting Rocamadour. Being a tourist trap there were a lot of restaurants to choose from; all generally offering the same kind of local fare... duck, steak etc. We actually went for this place because their "plat du jour" was roast chicken, fries and salad which stood out from the crowd.The restaurant was very empty when we arrived but filled up quickly. Staff were friendly and spoke English although my partner tends to speak to them in French anyway.
