Evening meals varied from excellent to disappointing. However, staff issues relating to covid may have been a factor and there are no close by alternatives.

We were staying in the hotel and elected to have dinner in on the first evening. Food was excellent. It is quite expensive but the quality makes up for it. Breakfasts were also great. Staff were really pleasant and helpful

Only had one evening meal as the menu was tiny and not enough choice plus quite expensive. Enjoyed it very much but dining room is dated, needs to smarten up as do the staff although they themselves were lovely. Just a little lacking for the prices.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the high quality food at this restaurant. We spent three nights here and also found the breakfasts to be enjoyable, with friendly and approachable service from the staff. We were pleased to find that Eshott Hall is very welcoming to dogs.

Stayed at Eshott Hall for our wedding anniversary and had a dinner included as part of the deal. Excellent in all respects. Chef produced lovely flavour blends. The two staff on duty worked relentlessly to please all. Wine available by the glass at reasonably good prices Really recommend it

The restaurant is fairly expensive and to be honest the quality of food and presentation needs improving for the price. I love the hall, staying there and the surroundings however in my view the one thing that lets it down is the dining room. The staff are nice. Also, not meaning to be offensive, but you really need to get a new carpet in the dining room as it is the first thing you look at when you enter the dining room.

Lovely team of staff, receptionist caitlin was marvellous answered all of our questions and more couldn’t of been better with the great local knowledge.Breakfast was a little bit of a wait for hot food, however the girls running the shift were so polite and made my experience even better. Appreciation to Amanda Amelia and Maria.The rooms were also lovely and had a nice view of eshott’s garden.Over all would return especially due to the amazing staff.

The Sunday lunch menu offered a delicious variety of dishes. The Stilton and mushroom arancini were tasty and generously portioned, although the terrine serving was on the small side. The daube of beef and pork belly main courses were delightful, as were the chocolate fondant desserts (absolutely perfect). However, the overall experience was marred by the empty dining room, the profanity from the kitchen upon our arrival, and the inattentive staff. One waitress kept disappearing and had to be called back by the chef to serve us, as she ignored our increasingly louder requests for assistance. We booked the Luxury Afternoon Tea, yesterday, as it was my birthday. I requested a proper height table and chairs, as we find eating from low coffee tables and sofas, not comfortable. I was assured that was not a problem. On arrival we were shown to low sofas and coffee table!! A table, in the darkest corner of the library, behind a wedged open door, was quickly set up and the tea and food arrived almost instantly. The waiter departed, never to visit us again. There was no tea menu, until I asked. The whole 'Luxury Afternoon Tea ' was the worst I 've ever had. Poor presentation, appalling cake selection, comprising 6 brown cubes, 3 of which were stale, 3 macarons, and 3 of the tiniest eclai...
